The trio stopped at the gate. "Greetings. Blessings of the Wanderer be upon you." William said cordially. He had wrapped his eyes in a bandage but still led the other two priests confidently. "It seems we arrived at a dangerous time. Are dragon attacks common in this land?"

"Aye, lately they have been," the guard replied. "Medan has suffered many dragon attacks lately." He shook his head sadly.

William was saddened by the reply. "In our land," The blind priest gestured in the direction of the sea, "dragons are only creatures of legend. And what magnificent tales they are! It is said they once brought prosperity to the land." He shook his head and frowned. "It is sorrowing to witness otherwise.
'But I stray from my intentions. My companions and I come in search of one of our brothers, Shaun Costa. Is there someone we could talk to who may know of the comings and goings of people to this city?"

Rictzin strolled along until he came across the two talking. He stopped and looked at them from behind his mask. The 6'3" man would definitely worry most people, especially when he stared at you without saying anything. He'd then reach into his bag and pulled a small metal badge of the sorts and showed it to the guard.
"I just washed up on shore from a private mission to Katashima. I wasn't able to succeed and i've been lost for months. If you don't mind, can I go about my way?" Rictzin spoke to the guard in an assertive tone.
Rictzin would use his other hand to point at the badge and what it was. On it was the flag of Medan on a gold background with fancy designs around it. On the bottom of the badge was a thin green ribbon. It was a Paladin's badge that Rictzin was showing.

The guard looked at him quizzically. Rictzin was intimidating to some, but not this guy. The slightly chubby, fully armored guard looked up from the brim of his steel kettle helm like he was mad. A sword was strapped to his left hip, and in his left hand was the shaft of a hefty halberd. "What? You're from where? How did you get through the Misty Seas? We'd love to hear about Katashima," he said, and a few other guards leaned in on the conversation. There was the slightest tinge of sarcasm to his voice, as though he did not fully believe his story despite the emblem he displayed.

Not sure, to be completely honest. Finding one person in this city is nigh impossible.." Now, two visitors were at the gate, creating two different conversations between different posts of guards. "You could perhaps try the Department of Statistics and Commerce... or maybe Arms and Justice... I can check if they're seeing visitors, if you'd like, but I'm doubtful there's much they could do for you."

"Those blasted Mists make no sense. Our ship was fine and then bam, we hit the mist and all hell broke loose. The other two ships had the same fate. I want to find out why we were sent on such a fools errand. So cut the sarcasm or i'll make sure you're demoted to cleaning the stalls and shining armor....
Nevermind you, have I lost my mind? I don't have to explain myself to you. I guess being lost at sea for months makes you want conversation of some kind." Rictzin spoke to the guard before turning away and walking off.
Rictzin was playing it off. He would turn quickly and begin storming off as if he was what he claimed to be. Rictzin was trained to infiltrate places, and with it came the ability to play roles. Rictzin had only been lost at sea for a week, but he acted as if he had been lost for months.

The exchange between the guard and the large man seemed rather tense to the priest. Naturally he attempted to calm the two down. There was no need for either of them to get hot headed. Stress could do that to a person.
"Peace my friends." William said warmly turning his eyeless gaze to the Rictzin. "You have obviously been trough a tough time. Perhaps you could explain a bit. A third view on the matter may ease the way. We are also dearly in need of information on this land it seems. A brother of our order has been lost."
William hoped that he could help this man, spreading the way of the path at the same time, and posibly find a lead on Shaun's disappearance. "A place where ships are lost at sea is particularity interesting. I don't think brother Shaun made it to Medan."

Rictzin paid no mind to William's words. He was supposedly a distraught paladin who was on the move. As stated he vanished beyond the gatehouse.

Wolfgang arrived at the gate to the castle. Following him was an entourage of defected Phoenix State guards and officers. While changes were being made to the new nation of Goraia, particularly the very castle he visited, his Greydan party that hailed from their own province in the Phoenix State were slated to begin a massive resettling movement.

Marching forward was him, the snake, along with a handful of other peaceful-seeming, but ugly, orcs, all with weapons sheathed and calm faces, looking about the castle in awe. Zash'Neck led the group, staring hesitantly at the gate. It seemed like a trap, however, others have came along the way, and with fair payment, they could enter as well.
"Hail, Goraia! We come from foreign lands, the forest of Kardeth!" He slammed a fist upon his chest, nodding his head with solemn respect. Which was true, they traveled many days from the path, given small guidance by the Lionkin that dwelled in the forest. "We've come for bounties as well as trade!" He claimed his reasons, waiting for a fair response.
The other orcs looked in awe still, looking around with wide eyes at the structure of the castle, one even going as far to graze his hand along the side of the stonework, a small grin of impression upon his face as he did so, nearly seeming dumb enough to be petting the castle wall. Another orc slapped his hand, nodding his head towards officials there at the time, where they maintained focus, but that one orc kept focus on the wall still.

Drude stops invisibly at the gate. He then stretches his way through the portcullis, and continues on his way.
OOC: As stated on previous border threads, Drude cannot be seen, but as I am taking hostile action in a bit, I am being courteous.

The gate is actually solid, and considerably more imposing than the border defense. The place reeked with magic, leylines that had been crossed and woven and harvested into all manner of unknown spells and enchantments. The walls were incredibly massive, with birds circling and roosting in its uppermost grooves but not daring pass over into the city.

Ahhhh, very good, well-played, while contradicting the image on the first post that led me to my conclusion. Drude instead ascends by climbing, assisted with his nearly impossible stretches.

(We haven't had time to change all the lore yet. Also, you're back at the city gates, not these gates. Next time please refrain from posting in "all border threads at once" in order to prevent confusion. Thank you!)

Age: Older than he'd admit
Physical Description: Demonlord Lavish's usual form is that of a large peacock. Its feathers shine brightly, brighter than all the gemstones in the treasuries of hell. If he needs to do something that requires thumbs, he'll take his natural form: a tall and magnificent man wearing a suit of pure gold.
Clothes and Equipment: In his peacock form, he doesn't wear much at all besides a shiny golden crown. In his full form, he wears the aforementioned golden suit and carries around a sword, which is polished enough that he can use it as a mirror. In fact, it's seen more use as a mirror than as a sword.

The mole tunnels under the gates. Of course, there was no way he could enter the castle from belowground. Stone floors would prove too much for such a tiny mole. However, if he could find a basement room with a dirt floor, he might be able to get inside. Sniffing around, he heads towards the wine cellars. Perhaps they have a dirt floor, to keep the wine cool and the air moist. He's seen other castles with dirt-floored wine cellars before. His own personal wine cellar, in fact, has a dirt floor. Of course, the dirt is made of gold dust. But still.

It wasn't necessarily the materials of the floor that were of concern, but the wards. The castle was warded in a similar manner to the city gates in three dimensional space, with clearly defined boundaries that covered any entrance into the complex. A system of glyphs within the castle controlled the extensive warding, with energy provided by Sakand's artifact.
The barrier was deadly on touch.

Lavish pokes the barrier, and is immediately shocked with enough energy to instantly kill any mortal. As it is, he simply jumps back into his tunnel. It seems that he won't be getting into the castle so easily. He tunnels over to the gate, and waits for a guard patrol to pass through. When they do, he burrows underneath their feet, trying to get through the barrier. Surely, the section around the gate would be dropped when someone entered or exited. Otherwise, they would surely die.

This was not how the system worked. Individuals were walking through the wards through some unknown mechanism. Perhaps they themselves had been individually marked in a manner in which the wards could recognize, or perhaps they possessed some sort of artifact that acted as a sort of key. One thing was for certain--very few actually passed into and out of the castle.
