"Very well thir, if partth are needed to be replatheable that can be arranged. Shall we begin?" With that Igor had a sleepy yet confident grin to his face.

He was also using this as a test for Igor, his tools were certainly top quality, and these weren't the sort of things one would acquire if one didn't know how to use them.
"Yes let us begin. First, let us expose the bones and drain the blood. Blood only serves to get in the way."
While Igor did the physical work of draining the blood, Dr. Frankeneblin would be every where with his wand, ensuring nothing splashed or shot out everywhere.

As Igor starts the first few cuts he makes another inquiry. "Doeth the buyer need the partth replatheable inthtantly, like various bladeth thcrewed onto the thame handle, or do they only need to be replatheable between battleth?"

Dr. Frankeneblin stopped waving the wand about momentarily as he pondered Igor's question...
"Hmmmmm....that is a good question. Guess it depends on how much they pay us. But at the very least lets give them the capability. No need to tell them the full capabilities after all."

"Yes indeed, that seems like the most economical and efficient way for that to work. The bolts and wrenches are in the second drawer down, third from your left."
Igor was shaping up to be an excellent assistant, his ideas were matching Frankeneblin's own, and he appeared to be executing them adequately. Bit of difficulty understanding him, but that was hardly the worst thing he had ever had in an assistant.

Igor would grab the parts he needed. He would put a small port that sticks out the side of the limb which would fasten a bolt. This way the end of the limb could be replaced with all kinds of things. The standard hand could be easily unscrewed and replaced with a murderous rotating sawblade. He would look at his work, and open up his suitcase. Now that the "thing" was almost finished Igor began to poor a solution of alcohols, sugars, iron supplements and salts to kill any mircobes and already start nourishing and replenishing cells.

Igor did good work it would seem. Careful and efficient, an assistant of any doctor's dreams. He wondered if he had always been like that or if the enhancements had changed something in him to create that result. Probably a rather offensive question to ask of course.
While Igrik worked on the physical part, Frankeneblin began muttering the incantations necessary to restore "life" to the former knight. It was imperative that this happen as quickly as possible, lest the body become too damaged in the surgery before the self-healing took effect.

"Excellent work Igrik, and yes let us make the parts we need. We can order better parts once we have proved the concept."
No point in spending that level of money if the idea wasn't even going to work. He had every confidence that it would work, but he would rather work out any kinks with cheap equipment and then install the good stuff.

"Very well mathter, firtht I will try to replicate an old dethign I read of in an ancient Document." With a bit of work with pliers and bolt cutters, Igrik would create a round sawblade. It would have rods on either side to connect to a small iron cylinder, one that screws onto the stump if the arm. While Igor's magic capability was weak, he knew how to articulate and use it better than many arch-mages. With a bit of spare flesh to make it meld with the other "living" parts he would create an arm that has a quickly spinning saw blade that would cut through absolutely any flesh and would have the advantage over most blades by being able to pierce iron once a few moments of cutting pass. It was quite simple really but one would be able to charge a pretty penny for it.

"That is quite the interesting implement there Igrik. One problem though, the magic you imparted into it to make the blade spin will run out, how would it get replenished?"
His tone was curious, as if he were a teacher, not reproachful. He had an idea on how to do it, but wanted to see if Igor's idea was better or even different but the same.

Igrik scratched his head, a metallic scraping noise coming from it. "The way I thee it, it there are two optionth, either the organic part of the body ith made magical, like an undead withard tho ath to thuthtain the magic continuously, or to increathe profitth we can make thell the nethethary magical thupplementth to get an ongoing income. Your choithe, however."

"The second option sounds like a lot of work on our end. Profits are good yes, but I do not want have to make replacement crystals constantly just to power my creations. Much better to have the necromantic magics already inside the undead provide it with the necessary energy. That should drain the undead of their magic just slow enough that they have plenty of time to be useful, but when it runs out and they come to get a new one, we sell them the new and improved version at twice the cost!"
His tone would remind anyone listening of a professor giving a friendly lecture to one of his students, and he waved the wand about cheerfully as he spoke, green tendrils of magic snaking out from the tip as he spoke.

"The host of course Igrik. That way the appendages, which we sell, are as simple as possible for the idiots who are going to try and use the appendages. Put the magic in there and it will break."
His tone continued on in that professor-y tone he had maintained throughout the surgery, which he appeared to be doing without difficulty.

Frankeneblin nodded in agreement with Igrik's suggestion.
"You are absolutely correct my friend. The chest makes the most sense, as well as it being a much more central location for the magic to flow outwards from. This is supposed to be a functional experiment, not a show-off one,so your assessment is correct."

"Of course he needs a head! We don't want people to look at him and exclaim 'What a monstrosity!', we want them to look at him and exclaim 'What a marvel of magic!' Remember, the goal is to try and make people more accepting of the undead, not less."
His voice had a hint of reproach, but the admonishment was gentle and soon forgotten by the erratic gnome as he continued to work.
