( Strangers and Travelers ) Kiera fished out the copper and would drop them in the palm of the kind man behind the counter, tugging the glass closer with a heightened intrigue to try the drink. Her fingers carefully curled about the glass and she lifted it, pausing only when she noticed her neighbor at the counter. For a moment, she couldn't help but stare. She had seen the odd individual before, but... nothing quite like this. She had to tear her eyes from the cloaked figure, and focused on the beverage - tipping the glass back and taking a sip to sample. Indeed - that was a sweetness to make her taste buds sing. It was clear with a widening smile on her face. When she glanced back at her neighbor, Kiera would notice that his glass was empty. Had he even taken a sip? Regardless of his odd behavior, the sweetened milk was delicious. The rumors were true: it was far creamier than any milk that anyone else sold. All of a sudden, she would hear the sharp sound of breaking glass. If she looked up, she'd realize that her neighbor had just taken a bite of his glass. A disturbing crunching sound would be heard as he chewed.

"You're going to rob some old woman's grave?" Sasha asked, scoffing. She was mercenary, but only to a point. She could be talked into some things, but grave robbing wasn't one of them. Well, that she thought. Depending on how well the argument was put to her, but definitely Shady and Dreary wouldn't be the guys that would talk her into doing that.
Also, she marked down that name. Collister. Graveyard. Near-ish by that you'd have to travel, given the amount of days he was given.

" No, i'm going to make the map as requested, and I am also going to let the grounds keeper know what's going on." He explained. "Living is expensive as you know, and if they are willing to toss me 200, what's sitting in the family's home? I'm sure they can afford a bit more security." He added.

"Hm..." She thought on it a bit, then pulled back from where she had rested her elbows on his saddle, turning back to attend her own horse once again and double-check the straps and buckles. "Well, I wish you good luck with that," Sasha said as she worked and moved, then she gripped her saddle, stepped into the stirrup and gracefully vaulted herself over so she sat in her saddle with ease. From up high, she sent a smile down to Regal Al'nin Withernorth. "Maybe we'll cross paths again and you'll be 200 coin richer."

" fare well Tasha, " Regal mounted his mare with an easy grace. " With any luck we will meet again." He said with a wave. He really did hope he would meet her again , she seemed interesting, in more ways than the obvious. All he knew was he enjoyed her company.
He headed towards the site he was meant to survey.

She waved back, then turned her steed to go in the opposite direction. She only road as far as was necessary until she was alone on the road and the Milk Bar was no longer visible. Then, with a click of her tongue, she edged her mare off the road and into the forest, dismounting to make the ride easier as they were no longer on any path and leading the horse deep enough into the woods that they wouldn't be seen, but close enough that finding the road would be easy.
She had only to wait until nightfall...

( Strangers and Travelers) The sound initially made her jump in her seat, and she really couldn't help but stare this time. He had just taken a bite out of a glass... What was she supposed to do about this? This couldn't be healthy for the guy, and what about the barkeep? What did he think of this? The next time the man came around she would wave him down for a word. "I take it, ahem... you get all sorts of folks that stop by?" she asks casually, though her eyes shift to flick towards her neighbor as an indicator.

The barkeep wandered over as her neighbor continued to crunch on the glass. He looked down at her, then over at the man next to her before sighing.
"Yes, we get all sorts of characters out here. Who knew a milk bar would attract such a crowd? He's a regular here, and eats the glass every time. We started charging him for it after the third one. We can't complain, though, he pays up and tips well. What more can we ask?"
If Kiera looked over again, she'd see the man licking the bottom of the broken glass with an unnaturally long tongue. The barkeep chuckled.
"Fella never speaks, either. We just give him the same thing every time he comes in, and he leaves happy. I'm not sure what he does for a living, although every now and then he comes in absolutely covered in blood. It's quite a mess, and cleaning up after he leaves is quite the struggle. He always tips well for our struggles, though, so we don't mind all that much."

( Strangers and Travelers) Now she was really curious as to what kind of guy this was - but, of course, it really wasn't her place to ask. She simply nods and savors another drink from her glass. This stuff was amazing, much better than any milk she had ever tasted - and it wasn't just because of the additions the barkeep slipped in upon her request. "Well, so long as everyone's happy I suppose that's the good thing," she replies with an easy smile to the man. "And this is amazing - I can see where you keep a steady supply of customers with milk like this. Have you thought about perhaps selling it beyond here? Supply it as a specialty in other places? If I could get this in, say, Isra - I'd never waste another coin on anything but," she adds with a light laugh.

The barkeep chuckled, shaking his head.
"Oh no, we couldn't possibly. Our...er...cows are already at maximum capacity. We're very selective with the cows we bring in, and they must be raised from birth on a very special diet. Thus, while we're popular and comfortable here, we're really not in any position to increase our stake on the market. Thank you for the vote of confidence, though, I'm glad you enjoy it!"
Kiera's odd neighbor swallowed the rest of the glass, then turned towards her and the barkeep. For the first time, Kiera would be able to see his face fully. It was wide and flat, with oversized eyes and an unreasonably wide mouth that was stretched in a grotesque grin. It was as though a very young child had drawn a face, and it had come to life. He raised a long, thing, multi-jointed hand towards the barkeep, who poured him another glass of milk.
"There you go, sir! Enjoy!"
As before, the odd figure dipped his fingertips in the glass and left them there.

( Strangers and Travelers) "Ahh. Well then that means I'll just have to stop by more often. Travel around a little more. Not like I already do enough, but I'll need to come by this way much more often." She goes quiet to enjoy the remainder of her drink, contemplating on ordering another one.

As she sipped her drink, the odd figure (who could barely be called a man, given his grotesque physique) finished his second. He crunched mindlessly on the glass, but didn't let out so much as a murmur. Despite his strangeness, though, nobody else in the bar seemed to mind him much. Perhaps they'd grown used to him, or they were simply desensitized to weirdos in this bar. After her neighbor finished the glass, he pulled a long knife from within his coat. Before anybody could stop him, he thrust it into his chest and collapsed face-first onto the counter, nearly knocking over Kiera's drink.

( Strangers and Travelers) That did it. It wasn't even the fact that she almost lost her glass, but it was just... did the guy really just stab himself right there at the counter? She hastily jumped up from her bar stool, extremely alarmed when the knife found home and the individual collapsed. In shock, all she could do was point at the guy - obviously distress - and try to speak. "He-He just...!" If there was a any blood spilt, she would likely have a minor problem - all she needed was a scent of it. That wouldn't be a good thing. Then again, who knew if this guy... thing... bled.

Fluid of some sort dripped seeped through the man's clothes. It smelled vaguely of blood, and was sort of reddish...but it was different. It was as though the blood had been watered down, and seemed much thinner than it should be. The color was also fainter, and it was nearly translucent. Still, it was sort of blood-like, and whether or not that would be enough to set Kiera off had yet to be seen. The barkeep noticed and wandered over at a remarkably lazy pace, seemingly unbothered by the apparent suicide in his bar. He kicked the corpse's leg a few times, sighing.
"Come on, get up. That trick doesn't work with us."
Grabbing the odd figure by the collar, he pulled him up off the counter and threw him on his back on the floor. Planting a foot in the man's bony chest, the barkeep pulled out the knife with a sickening sucking noise before kicking him a few more times.
"Don't try to pull that, it didn't work after the first time and you've made an awful mess."
The man got up and dusted himself off, taking the knife and putting it away. The gaping wound in his chest didn't seem to bother him all that much, and he gestured for another drink. Sighing, the barkeep handed him one and turned to Kiera.
"Sorry about that, Miss. He does that from time to time. He stabs himself, pretends to die, then waits until he gets hauled out before he gets up and leaves. He does it to try and get out of a bill. Gave us an awful scare the first time, but we got wise to it after a couple more attempts."

( Strangers and Travelers) Thank goodness it wasn't a proper blood - the smell was potent due to her other half, but it wasn't enough to trigger an undesirable response. She watched with a mix of awe, confusion, and disgust as the bar keep apparently called a bluff on the guy. It was certainly unnerving to watch, and the explanation eased her distress just a little bit. Eventually she would take her seat, albeit in a slow fashion with all caution... in case the visitor decided to try something else outlandish. "Right... right." It's all she can say as her hand moves to take her glass again. She polished it off quickly, looking to ease her nerves further with it. "... might I get another glass? I could use another at the moment."

The bartender smiled kindly as he poured her another glass of sweetened milk.
"I don't blame you for being a little jumpy, miss. His antics can be a little...startling sometimes. We've gotten used to it, as have most of the regulars. We really do get all sorts of people in here, so we do our best not to judge. What can I say? Some people will avoid a regular tavern, but everyone loves milk! It really is the universal drink, wouldn't you agree?"
The man beside her finished his drink with remarkable speed, then tossed the glass into his mouth whole and crunched it loudly. Once he was done, he tilted back his head and opened his mouth. The strange man reached into his own mouth, his arm vanishing up to the elbow. When he pulled his hand back, he held a small handful of rather slimy coins. Placing them on a napkin, he got up and left.

The woman happily traded back the empty glass for a fresh fill, as well as another three copper pieces. She rolled her shoulders a bit as she tried to unwind now that her neighbor had paid and left... he really was a freaky fellow.
"I agree, and I try not to judge oddities too harshly. I've seen a fair share of that myself. I've learned that there's all sorts of people and creatures around - and some of the most common faces can be more monstrous than most strange creatures."

The barkeep nodded.
"Yes indeed, we've met some awfully vicious people who looked just as ordinary as you and me. Those are just the ones we found out, too. I sometimes wonder how many murderous monsters we've served here over the years. Probably quite a few, if I'm being honest with myself. Can't really help it though, can we? It's not as though we can put "decent people only" on a sign and stick it to the door."
Pulling a mop from the closet, he began to clean up the odd, watery blood from the floor and countertop.

The bartender finished cleaning up the mess, and put the mop away. Returning to his place behind the bar, he began to polish a mug.
"So, miss. What brings you out here? What is it you do for a living, hmm? We get a lot of travelers with all sorts of jobs out here, and I'm always curious to see what people do. I think the most interesting one we've had so far was a beetle-catcher. He caught all manner of bugs and sold them to mages to use as potion equipment. He brought with him a pet beetle, you should have seen it! It was the size of a pumpkin, and bright blue. It ate an entire head of lettuce as easily as you or I would eat a cookie."
