Siege of Vorstuga - Teutonic State Part II

The Battle of the Vorstuga River was a defining moment in the Brotherhood's History.  Hochmeister Konrad IV led his Knight-Brothers in a bloody battle against the Wickans, who were commanded by Grand General Vykas.  Aided by mercenaries and the Atlanticus Navy, the Brothers achieved a decisive victory.  Vykas lost the support of his allies, and his plans to raid the Free Plains were now moot.

While the Brothers could not continue east across the river, the prospect of another Wickan army trying to cross the river was daunting.  Konrad IV diverted resources to construct a fortress on the western banks of the river.  This fortress would anchor the defense of the region, and allow reconnaissance on the eastern front, and the Brothers could now control trade on the Vorstuga River.  Some settlers were brought here to clear the forest around the fortress and were encouraged to plant crops that could sustain the garrison; before long, artisans came to ply their trade to the settlers, smiths were paid generously for forging and maintaining arms and armor for the Knights, and hunters could now safely hunt in the nearby forests.  Merchants sailing down the river come here to sell their wares.  'Vorstuga' became an important, if small settlement in the Teutonic State, both militarily and economically.

But it seems the peace will not last.  Reports tell of an army approaching from the east, making its way in several waves towards the small fortress.  Perhaps Vykas has found new allies, or maybe a new threat emerges on the horizon.  Whatever the case, it is imperative this fortress be defended against any threats, and the Brothers pray they're not alone.  Mercenaries, sellswords, crusaders, and allies of the order must come together once again and protect the good people of the west from the horrors of the east.
