Located on the southern rim of the island, this fortress is in a mostly rocky area with a few rivers, built directly beside an oasis. The nearly tropical climate of the island is most prevalent here, resulting in a terrain with many rocks and a profusion of nearly jungle-like vegetation. It is a prominent structure atop rocky terrain that allows those within to see a good distance in every direction, the fortress is well equipped with mages who can detect invaders. As an additional protective measure, the walls and stone surrounding it are heavily imbued with warding and structural magics to protect the building and the land upon which it rests. All border fortresses are manned by minimum fifty eagle riders and about a hundred regular infantry, and the eagle riders do constant overlapping patrols between fortresses to ensure the security of the nation’s borders. (All individuals seeking entry to Esdara via the southern edge of the island will need to stop at the fortress before being permitted entry into the nation proper. Those who try to bypass the fortress or the patrols will be met with force.)

Fol-lu, Skywarden
Dedicated
Roleplay posts: 123
Age: Pretty Dang Old
Physical Description: Fol-lu has two forms, one which is his human form. In this form, he appears as an elegant looking man standing at an even 6’0’’ with long black hair. This is only his preferred mortal form, however, and he can take others if need be.
His draconic form is is that of an enormous feathered dragon, with a gleaming golden gem (the Dragon's Tear) embedded in his forehead, just between two golden eyes. The gem radiates with magical power, granted only to the Skywarden. The Skywarden's true form is roughly 200 feet long, and it is in this form that he is most powerful. He has the ability to decrease the size of this form at will.
---------------------------------------------------------
Clothes and Equipment: Fol-lu wears whatever is appropriate for the situation, whether that be a garb of silken finery or a set of comfortable traveling clothes. He also wears armor in battle at times, and commonly uses a polearm of legendary qualities. The weapon’s shaft is about as long as a short spear, except it is tipped with a long single edged blade that curves upwards at the tip for increased slashing power, this weapon is commonly referred to as a glaive. His weapon and armor can be summoned at will through the use of magic, since carrying around such things are an inconvenience one with power such as Fol-lu's does not have to deal with.

It was a quiet day thus far at the Southern Border Fortress of Esdara, the sun high in the sky as the clock just turned to noon. In that cloudless sky, however, something would suddenly block out the sun, momentarily casting those below in shadow as a massive white feathered dragon flew overhead.
The dragon would peer downwards as it passed over the fortress, the golden Dragon's Tear glowing with the holy magic of Esdar akin to a second sun in the absence of the first though less bright as the Skywarden flew overhead.
Fol-lu would give a single flap of his mighty wings then, and continue onwards. Even as the enormous dragon passed overhead, though, the air would remain as calm as ever, seemingly undisturbed.

The massive shadow alarmed the garrison of the fortress, naturally, drawing every eye upward. It didn't take long for them to look up in search of the source, and awe filled them all at what they saw - a great white-feathered dragon with a glowing golden gem in its brow. Iconography of the Skywarden was familiar to every citizen of Esdara, his appearance well known, and the reaction of the people below as the realization of their visitor hit them was raucous cheering and excitement. Fol-lu wouldn't be hindered, but half the force of the garrisoned Zanora Riders was dispatched to follow the dragon. Once they caught up, they would escort him to the High Church of Esdar. Meanwhile, several of the mages contacted the clerics within the city, telling them to inform the Winged Blade and the Winged Crown of their impending visitor.
