To the rocky north of Isra sat a mountain chain that skewered the sky for miles, rising high above the city itself in all its glory. If one were to scale the hills they would come across a massive cave, as tall as a building and potentially miles deep, tugged away in the crags. The sounds of something snoring could be heard inside. A more curious onlooker would yearn to see what is inside, surely. Their curiosity would be rewarded. After about a hundred feet of darkness, stone, and the faint dripping of water their eyes would be adjusted enough to see a magnificent sight filled with naturally forming crystals covering the walls of the tunnel.
The snoring grew louder with each step, until eventually the onlooker would come across an opening in the narrow (relatively speaking, of course, as even at its narrowest a full grown elephant could easily walk through) passageway, blinded by a beautiful image of treasure.
Gold, jewels, accessories, anything a treasure hunter could ask for. That is, save for one thing: A dragon.
As if the gold was a bed for it, the massive jade-shaded creature slept on top of the shiny metal. No wings could be found on the 150-foot-long monster, but its rocky exterior gave way to massive claws obviously designed for burrowing. It slept peacefully, curled up around what appeared to be a tiny (to itself) stuffed dragon plushie....

A bird flew its way through the night time sky, letting the wind lift its high until it saw the cave. It descended rapidly, twisted, and transformed into a lean and feminine figure as the Sparrow landed on her booted feet. She was no longer in her gown but in the clothes she usually wore for her... nocturnal activities; closely-tailored leathers, her cloak about her body.
She stepped into the cave and called. "@totallynotadragon? Hello?"

The Sparrow would notice the giant dragon sleeping in the middle of the cave. She didn't seem to stir as the woman spoke.

The Sparrow walked further into the cave and then was able to see the sleeping earth dragon at its center. She hesitated. For a moment, the voices of those who had trained all those years ago came creepy into his subconscious. It made the blonde go absolutely still...
... but then she spoke even louder. "@totallynotadragon! Wake up!"

Eventually the dragon moved, opening its eyes sleepily. Stretching out and yawning a bit, she looked down to Farrah.
"Oh! I was wondering when you'd arrive!" She said. Standing up on all fours she gestured to the rest of the cave- a massive cavern lit by candles and gold. In the back seemed to be a large shelf filled with books and other stuffed dragons like the one she was holding.
"Welcome to my home! How was the rest of the festival?"

She was still for a moment as she watched the dragon awaken, feeling a stirring of old feelings in her chest. To say that the Sparrow didn't like seeing Draga in this form was an understatement. She moved forward slowly, finally tearing her silver eyes off of the beast in order to look around her cavern.
"It was fine," the Sparrow said, aware that she might have looked defensive, as if she was ready for action. "Why did you leave it early? I thought you enjoyed Prospernalia."

"Hm? I do, I just....saw something there that upset me a bit and needed to get away." She said, also looking away. Eventually she sunk into the ground below like it was water and popped back out in her humanoid form. She still had a look of concern on her face, however.
"You...say you don't normally go to these festivals right?"

She watched the dragon melt into the earth and come up again as the dragon girl she knew. That transformation alone made the Sparrow's heart beat a little slower from its agitated rhythm, made her feel a little more comfortable again. Still, however, the scent of the dragon's lair was there, putting the Sparrow a bit on edge.
"No, I don't," Farrah answered, silver eyes watching... watching. And then her head tipped a little. "What did you see that upset you?"

She didn't answer the question, instead staying silent before she walked over to a table. On it was a large bottle of what appeared to be red wine and a few glasses. She poured a glass for Farrah and herself before offering it to The Sparrow . Whether or not she accepted, Draga would take a sip before responding. "...I saw you steal those wallets." She said, looking away.

The Sparrow moved further into the cave and toward the table, accepting the glass of wine. At Draga's words, however, a dark blonde brow perked on her face. "And?" she asked, not understanding why Draga would be upset.

She raised an eyebrow but looked disappointed soon after. Had this woman not no idea at what she did?
"...You...you stole from people. That's wrong..." Draga sputtered, confused as to how to make it any clearer, "I mean, how could you do that? I thought you were above petty thievery."

"There are other people who could use that coin more than they could," the Sparrow said, and she drank some of the wine, tasted it on her lips and drank some more. She turned away from Draga's sputtering to move over to the shelves on the wall, examining what was on them. "Why would you think I would be above that? Isra's rich and famous gather in one place and with a slip of my hand I have enough gold to donate to people that actually, truly need it. Those at the feast won't even miss it," she reasoned.

"That's not the point. You can't just steal from people, even if it would benefit others. If you really want to help the poor you should've come to me the moment you learned I was a dragon."
She gestured behind her to the massive pile of gold and jewels that formed a mound almost as large as Draga's dragon form.
"I'm contractually obligated as a big arrogant lizard to have piles of shiny objects and money lying around! I would love to help! If it means you stop pilfering people."
She walked over to Farrah, a concerned look on her face.
"When you told me you're a dragon slayer I had envisioned you were this noble hero out to save the world from the draconic scourge, or whatever it is you tell humans I'm like. I didn't think you would be pickpocketing those same people you're protecting."

She rounded on Draga then, her silver eyes keen on the dragon girl's pretty -- and concerned -- face. "How DID you get all that gold, Draga? Humans just walked up and offered it to you?"

"Yes, actually!" She said bluntly, "Do you know how many wannabe dragon slayers loaded down with magically-infused weapons and equipment come up here looking to take my head as their first kill just because I can't fly away?"
She gestured to the massive pile of gold again.
"That many!"
She sighed and put two fingers on the bridge of her nose, closing her eyes in frustration.
"I'm sorry we had to talk about that...I didn't invite you up here to chastise you for morally ambiguous choices, I invited you up here because- despite the fact I know you want to kill me for something I didn't do- I really do enjoy your company. It gets lonely up here. I wanted to show you my home because you mean a lot to me, Farrah."

"No, no, no, no," the Sparrow said, shaking her head and stepping over to the table to set down her wine glass, lest she throw it. Her silver eyes were sparkling with her anger, her cheeks going a bit pink with her passion.
"You're telling me that dragon-slayers of all ilk came up here to kill you, suddenly decided you were alright, and then GAVE you their gold and treasure instead? That doesn't even make sense. And if that IS what they did, then it sounds like you've been fleecing so-called dragon-slayers for as long as I've been stealing from the wealthy to lend a hand to the poor."
She turned around to pace, not to leave, but just to walk and to move, and then whirled back around again, her golden hair swaying as she did so. "And, for the record, I am not a dragon slayer. My people were not dragon slayers like all the rest of these chumps claim to be, doing it for the thrill or the payment or because a handful of loved ones were burnt to a crisp."
She stepped closer to Draga now. "The Cygnians were at WAR with the dragons. We slaughtered them by the hundreds and learned how to decimate their numbers because if we didn't, they would sweep into our lands and annihilate our people." She let out an angry breath and took a step back from Draga, sliding a hand through her hair. "Or, at least, we did. But the dragons won. And I'm alone."

Draga paused after Farrah spoke, giving her a somewhat annoyed look. Suddenly Farrah would find herself being jerked backwards as the ground below her pushed away to reveal a massive crevice. If Farrah were to look inside she would see hundreds, if not thousands, of singed human bones piled on top of one another of varying sizes. Some still shaped like skeletons while most were disconnected and only served to form a pile far larger than anything Farrah would have seen. Even the ground below was not visible- every inch was filled with the charred remains of corpses.
"Attacking a dragon in their own cave is considered offering them your equipment, because most of the time it'll benefit the dragon more than the slayer." Draga said after giving Farrah time to take in the infinite graveyard below. The ground shifted again to cover it up once more, returning to what it was.
"I did what I had to for self-defense. I don't like having to, but guess what? Being a giant monster known for eating princesses and burninating countrysides? No real benefit socially. I tried talking them down, telling them not to attack and that I mean them no harm. I stopped trying when I had to turn the first bonepile to ash to make room for the second."
Draga's frown swelled as she deflated. She looked to the ground with somber eyes before sniffling and looking up again with a more determined, hardened look.
"You're alone, I'm alone, and we enjoy each other's company. I'm so sorry for what happened to your people but I didn't cause any of that nor would I have wanted to. The only people I meet seem to want to kill me. At first most are nice but the moment they see me, Qui Sota, not Draga, they want to attack. You, however, wanted to keep drinking with me...I really enjoy being with you, Farrah."

The ground trembled and opened, and when the Sparrow looked down and saw the cascading pile of bones, she dropped to her knees in awe and horror. She couldn't quite believe what she was seeing, although her ears were open and listening acutely to @totallynotadragon explain their presence.
The sight of this mass grave -- the second one, since she had to burn the other one away -- brought back memories and nightmares of what it had been like during the dragon wars, when she had still been young, what she had witnessed...
She shut her eyes against the image, and the ground rumbled again as it closed up, and still the Sparrow sat back on her heels, her hands in tight fists where they rested against her thighs, and her blonde head bent forward. Then, she looked up, and whatever softness might have been in her silver gaze was no longer there.
"You killed all of those people? More?" she asked simply. "They claim to kill a dragon that they heard was murderous and selfish -- and you proved every single one of them correct." The Sparrow pushed up onto her feet and put a hand to her stomach. "I need air."
She turned and walked out of the cave just so she could take in a deep breath of the chilly night air, and trying to keep her mind (and stomach) from spinning too quickly out of control.

Draga smacked her forehead in frustration. "Oh come on! I was defending my home!" She yelled as The Sparrow left the cave. "What was I supposed to do? Let them cut me up with their swords?" With an angry grunt she turned around and dropped to a cross-legged sitting position, arms crossed and her face puffed up from pouting. "Selfish, my ass, your kind did the same damn thing..." She muttered to herself.

Being outside, she took in deep breaths of the cool air and felt the night on her skin. Far in the distance, she could see the glow of Isra, little faint and twinkling lights sprinkled around it for the homesteads and farms and places of civilians that did not live within the Isran walls.
She had to bring herself to calm. She was feeling her hand clench and want to reach for the enchanted dagger she always had strapped to her. It was odd, but now she felt the keen loss of weight from the other weapons she used to carry. -- But she wasn't that person anymore, she reminded herself. She wasn't.
It occured to the Sparrow that she could just as easily fly away from Draga. After all, what would she really do? She couldn't do anything to the Sparrow, and if she tried... well. The Sparrow wasn't like other dragon hunters. Slaying dragons wasn't simply a chosen occupation or a petty means of revenge because of a few unfortunate souls. She had an entire education dedicate to the sole purpose of annihilating as many of the great scaled beasts as she could.
The Sparrow closed her eyes and tipped her head back and let out a slow breath, only to inhale once more... and then released. Finding her zen and her calm and her control, she was able to think more clearly.
And she did not fly away. Nor did she reach for her weapons.
She moved back into the cave and saw where Draga was sitting on the ground, pouting and irritated and angry. The Sparrow did not feel responsible for it, and the look did not charm her. Not with so many bodies lying in the earth beneath her.
"When was the last time you killed someone?" the Sparrow asked instead, silver eyes steady on Draga's turned back.
