Riley Fletcher and Cheesecake

Age: 25
Physical Description: Riley Fletcher is a red-haired human standing 6 feet in height, with the body of a trained soldier. His hair has been described as "red and floppy" and his clothes always seem to be their cleanest. Cheesecake is a fairy standing 6 inches in height, wearing a pink skirt. She has short blonde hair with a tiny cowlick that never seems to go away no matter what.
Clothes and Equipment: Riley's normal attire includes his red armor and green-tinted plate pieces and his green scythe with an amber blade. The scythe was a gift from the archfey themselves. Riley will be the first to admit a scythe isn't actually a viable weapon but the archfey, living in another plane of existence and having no idea what humans consider weapons, gifted him one thinking that because "it's super awesome-looking" it must be a proper weapon.
He keeps a longsword and shield as a backup for when the archfey are proven wrong. Along with his weapon, Riley carries with him standard adventuring gear as well as healing potions for when they're traveling. Cheesecake's small size means she's not able to carry much more than her rapier (essentially a metal toothpick).

She didn't know that Riley had read her so well, but she wouldn't have been surprised -- nor would have any of her family. Mireia was a very passionate girl (like most Rondi women), and her emotions usually played a symphony across her face, and especially in those hazel eyes of hers. She was concerned for Riley Fletcher and Cheesecake , however. She had no idea how strong the little fairy was, and worried that perhaps she was too fragile to enjoy a thing like LaDanza de LaMuerta. She was concerned for Riley, too. The redhaired young man was almost frantic in his need to get to Cheesecake, and his emotions were washing off onto her. Yet, he took her hand and instinctively, her own closed around his. Surprise registered in her face when he tried to draw her through the crowd toward those that were dancing in the middle of a circle. Non-Rondi natives were usually lost to a dance like this one. "Are you -- Are you sure? Cheesecake..." Her pretty black shawl slipped a little from her shoulders, further revealing the smooth olive-tone flesh of her naked shoulders. No doubt that same hue was on her cheeks and brow and nose as well, but all of that was covered in white and black and colored make up of a sugar skull. "I'm--" she almost told him her title, but instead smiled, "--Mira. My name is Mira." Mostly true, after all. "We can keep looking for your fairy," she said to him. "We don't have to dance." But just as obviously as he could read her concern, he could also read her hope and eagerness to dance at all, even if it was terribly. She wanted to join with the music and the life of the festival. After all, once the festival was done, she would be sailing to war. "Nah...she can take care of herself. You wouldn't believe it but she's stronger than me by a mile. Plus, I haven't had time to actually dance. Never go to these kinds of festivals and Cheesecake shouldn't be the only one having fun." Riley said as he led her back into the crowd. "A warning though, I have two left feet!"

Sasha Pierce Regal stood as he was made of stone... Becoming lost in those brown eyes. The comfort and assurance that her presence brought on were indecent. He had no right to feel this way about her. Aside from this conversation they had only ever jested over the back side of a horse. How did she have him so wound up, yet as malleable as clay? Had he been so starved for affection? Had he long so deeply for the comfort of another that he'd jump and scurry? There was no pride in this, no devotion. It must simply be lust... "No one can party like the dead can party," Her voice fell upon his defenses as arrows... and he found him-self...helpless. Distantly part of him chuckled... his people had a relation with death unlike many others too. "The Rondi celebrate the dead like no other nation I have ever seen. We will drink, we will eat, we will be merry, and we will..." her eyes hinted at mischief... wonderfully sensual mischief... " Dance. Perhaps." A minx if he'd ever met one... " I'll have you know I have the finest set of left feet this side of Isra." He boasted as if his clumsiness was a badge of honor... In truth he was a decent dancer, at least he'd been told as much by tavern folk. "What do you see now?" Taking his eyes off her was like losing his eye all over... while painless, the idea caused him pain... " I see..." His gaze slid over her for a split second. " uh.. " he fumbled for a moment, actually looking where she gestured... His mouth fell open slightly. It was beautiful... The colors and light, the energy and excitement... " no one can party like the dead..." He mumbled.... now actually understanding what she had meant. Glee raced across his face. " This is incredible!" He said taking everything, becoming lost in the maze of colors and lights...

Skarlet had a joyous time at the LaVerbana de LaMuerta Festival. There was just one more thing she wanted to see, and at this hour she finally arrived once there weren't as many local ghosts around. It was the spirit of a young woman with long hair that curled like a thicket of bramble, she wore a modest outfit with a long skirt. The ghost girl was similar to Skarlet in almost every way with slight differences. "You're Céline, aren't you?" Skarlet thought the ghost looked like a painting of herself, so she assumed this was Céline Zeidler. She wasn't even sure Céline would show up, but it turned out the ghost was still close to its former body. "Bonsoir Mademoiselle, it's nice to finally meet you. I hope the afterlife is treating you well, after what you went through. Sometimes I dream of the life you used to have. I met Ranis and your father last year, I could tell he loved his little sister." Céline smiles and nods at the vampire that now owned her body. This was the ghost's first time seeing her adult body since she died, she was happy Skarlet was taking good care of it. Céline's Ghost comes closer and gives Skarlet a kiss on each cheek and Skarlet would do the same motion. After that Skarlet reaches into a bag and pulls out the item she wanted to offer her predecessor, it was a doll Skarlet had bought while in Rondon. The doll had blonde hair like Alice did but had a different style to her since she was made in a different country. Céline accepts the doll and hugs it, Alice was her favourite item when she was a child in Gauldin. Even though it's not the same exact doll it meant a lot to her, Skarlet herself had the original Alice doll at home. It was a thoughtful treasure for Céline, a new doll for the old incarnation while the new incarnation kept the old doll, it was an exchange of past and present. It was about time for Céline to leave, she didn't want to stay around for any more festivities, she was shy which was why she took so long to appear. The spirit begins to depart back to the other world and Skarlet waves goodbye. "Au revoir! I'm going to chase success in your honour! You can count on it." Goodbye~RIP Céline Zeidler Lived Post Cataclysm years 84 — 103 2nd youngest out of 6 children With her meeting finished, Skarlet would seek out Jun of the Celadine again.

Arya Shieldheart

Roleplay posts: 274
Age: 21
Physical Description: *Physical Description*
Arya stands at about 5'10, with an athletic build composed of lean yet strong muscle due to rigorous training in plate armor most of the time. Arya has pure white hair that tumbles down to just above the small of her back in flowing waves.
Her face holds soft features, which seem welcoming to any who look upon them. Her eyes, which are a ruby red color, always seem to hold a friendly, welcoming glint.
***
Clothes and Equipment: *Clothes and Equipment*
In combat, Arya will almost always be wearing a high quality plate armor made of white plate accented in black. The armor was made to fit the user and is more form fitting than plate armor of a lower quality, which makes it hug her features a bit, while also allowing a freer range of movement. On top of this, the armor is also enchanted, which lends it additional strength in the form of various wards placed upon it. With the armor, Arya also usually has a dark navy blue cape that is enchanted to protect her from the elements that may affect a user wearing full plate normally.
Arya's sword, which she carries at all times, appears to be made out of pure gold and is ornately crafted, though in truth it is only golden in color. The blade seems to always gleam with holy energy. The source of the blade's holy energy seems to flow directly from Arya's soul, the blade and its wielder's soul linked by a powerful bond. The golden metal sword is so much a part of Arya that she can easily cast holy magic or light magic through it as she fights with it, and if one were to hold the blade, it would surrender everything of Arya's being to that person, including every memory, thought, and emotion she had ever experienced and is experiencing at the time. If the sword, which is nigh indestructible, is destroyed, however, Arya would die.
At other times, she wears more mundane clothing, though it typically consists of a cloak that is a dark navy blue, similar to her cape while she is wearing her armor that is also enchanted to protect it's wearer a bit. For the most part, she summons most of her equipment through the use of light magic, except for her sword.

The Lordling flashed a charming smile -- he was charming, and handsome, even if he was covered in make up. And -- very used to getting his way. " Will you join me LaDanza?" the man asked, stepping closer to Arya Shieldheart as the streets got more and more crowded. " And afterwards.... perhaps a walk in the graveyard, no?" Mmhm. Get her where it was going to be somewhat quiet. Where he could make the real moves. But for now, most of the focus was on LaDanza.Arya inclined her head slightly at the mention of LaDanza, "LaDanza? What is that?" she asked curiously, "Do you mean a dance? I am not very good at dancing..." she said, feeling a bit self-conscious. She couldn't remember the last time she danced to anything, ever since she began traveling. Either way, she didn't have much practice. "Sorry, I really shouldn't. It would be embarrassing, I wouldn't be a very good dance partner." The Kingdom of Rondón

She has olive skin, dark brown hair ending just above her shoulders, and slight epicanthic folds over her dark almond eyes. Her face is squarish with a small chin. Her skin is dotted with battle scars, and her left arm is heavily bandaged due to an unknown affliction.
Clothes and Equipment: Jun possesses a vast collection of seeds, herbs, insects, and scrolls hidden in various pouches in her armor. These serve as reagents for her multitude of spells. Jun was chuckling, somewhat bemused at what had transpired between Alden and the strange woman. Her face was slightly red; truth be told the encounter left her feeling a bit... envious.
Having eaten the bread and worn the facepaint, Jun began to perceive the spirits of hundreds floating around, enjoying the height of the festival. She started to wonder why so many spirits were still hanging around though. One would think the spirits would be anxious to move on to the next life. Their presence didn't really bring her spiritual beliefs into question. Perhaps some souls just took their time. She waved at whichever ones passed close by and made sure to assure the children that there was nothing to be afraid of.
A part of her wanted to see her grandmother, but then again she and Lynx had already had their moment in Lum'Valia's domain. Jun figured her soul would have moved on by now, and didn't bother looking very closely for her.
"Wait, is that..." Jun did spot an odd spirit that looked just like Skarlet, except somehow both more and less alive at the same time. She looked more alive in that she was clearly not a vampire, and less alive in that she was a ghost. The spirit seemed to fade away. How odd. It didn't seem interested in the party...
"Oh! Hi..." Jun said, slightly stunned, when Skarlet returned to her. "Umm... Umm... Do you need a hug?"
She assumed that the spirit was someone important to Skarlet and that perhaps she needed some emotional support.

Skarlet didn't have to go far to find Jun again. When she was offered a hug, she laughed a little and stuck her tongue out.
"I don't need one but I'll gladly accept a hug." Skarlet smiles lecherously and wraps her arms around her fellow lady; she enjoyed feeling the warmth of the living invading her colder body. After getting a good feel from the hug she releases and talks about her encounter. "Did you see her? That was Céline, she was me before I was me... you get it? She's like my past life, she died 4 years ago. It's strange to think that I've only existed in this incarnation for a few years... hehe!"

Post by Cheesecake The Fairy on Nov 10, 2017 16:55:43 GMT -8
Having managed to elude Riley's grasps with her dancing, Cheesecake followed the parade as it wound around the city, fully engrossed in the music. She did her best not to intrude on The Kingdom of Rondón's dancers but was too easily excited to stay back and join in on shooting fireworks. Her bird-like singing could only be faintly heard over the music as she danced in mid air. However, when the parade made a sharp turn, Cheesecake failed to notice and accidentally began wandering off into the graveyard. Only once the beat had become soft did she open her eyes again and look around. Where had the parade gone? She let out a confused chirp as she looked around to get her bearings. She was quite exhausted from that dancing, now that she thought about it. Floating over to a tombstone, she sat down on it and put her head on her hands to rest. Eventually she would get back up and move, but for now she listened to the muffled songs and lights in the background as her wings gently fluttered with her rushed breathing.

"Wait, what?" Jun's jaw dropped. If anything was going to make her question her spiritual beliefs, this was it.
"That ghost, that was you? And you're right here? So... I'm confused. How is that possible?"
By now Jun had finished sparkling. Skarlet had just missed the light show. Jun quickly turned around to make sure all the children were accounted for, but she then her eyes turned back to Skarlet, examining her. She was certain Skarlet had a soul... wasn't she?

"Ah? Maybe I'm not good at explaining it. Céline used to be the soul of this body, but when she died I replaced her. I live in her place now using her body... Hmmm. I can think of an analogy to describe it." Skarlet lifts her hand up to her mouth and begins to think of something that sounds comparable to her relationship to Céline. She had talked with Master Leviath and Ranis about it before, to her, it wasn't something she thought of. Skarlet just lived.
"How about this, A man works all his life to build the house of his dreams but dies before he can enjoy it. But instead of the house being abandoned, his son inherits the property and family fortune and lives on with it all. This body is the estate that I inherited."
When she thought of it this way it made sense to Skarlet. She considered the analogy even further, thinking about redecorating and adding expansions like an extra wing to the house; equating to her vampire abilities and that her appearance altered to have red eyes and fangs. After thinking about it for a while longer she wonders how Jun received it and she returns her attention. She hoped Jun was following what she meant and that the analogy wasn't lost in translation. Skarlet herself feels a little ditzy and bubbly, which was unusual for the normally macabre girl. She laughed and played with her hair, twirling it around her finger. "Is that helpful?"

"Wow, so, you're a new soul in an adult body. That's... that's very interesting." Jun said, pleasantly bemused. "I've never heard of anything like that before... Y'know, I was always raised believing that our souls just moved on to another life when we died. But, now that I've seen angels, ghosts, this festival, and, er, whatever you just described, I wonder if the afterlife is a lot more complicated than I thought it was."
Jun gazed out at the sky, at the revelry of the spirits. Maybe she had dismissed the possibility of seeing her grandmother too soon.
"Oh, and there was that weird kid that existed outside space and time that had to be revived. His father was a professor from Gauldin. That's a long story for another time..."

"Hello, little one," a voice spoke to Cheesecake The Fairy. The voice was warm, it was calming. It was the sound of a mother comforting her child during the storm, it was the sound of a lover welcoming their other partner home after a long journey, it was the sound of a grandparent telling a tale while night came down. The woman that appeared to Cheesecake had a painted face like any other, but the flowers in her hair seemed to almost... was glow the right word? There was something about this woman that seemed to be luminescent, and yet, no one in the crowded graveyard even looked her way. The cemetery that Cheesecake found herself in was covered in el escrisuenos, most tombstones draped in flowers and candies and candles. Spirits in a ghostly green hue were floating between, children running along the paths and playing. It was joyous, a celebration of legacy and continued tradition, and the woman before Cheesecake now smiled and leaned against the same stone that Cheesecake rested on. Oddly enough, Cheesecake would quickly come to realize that the woman was speaking in her language -- in whatever communication their fae-kind had. "You've traveled a long way to be here," the woman said. "would you like a sweet?" She held out her hand and there was frosted sweet bread in it, a large roll all for the little fae to eat.

Taken by surprise, Cheesecake jumped a little and looked around for the source of the voice. Almost immediately she would gaze on the painted face with shock before switching to amazement. "Oh, sweets! Yes please!" She chirped happily before realizing the woman spoke her language. "Whoa, you speak Sylvan too?! I never meet anyone who speaks Sylvan! Even Riley can't speak Sylvan! Well, he understands it but his accent whenever he tries is just BLEH! Not like you though, you're amazing!" Cheesecake dived for the sweet bread and nibbled on it, the roll almost as large as she was and requiring her to grip it with all four limbs as she chewed. "Thank you, it's tasty!" She responded after swallowing a bite, "Is that a mask? I love it, it looks so cool! I had a mask too but I think I lost it during the dancing. Oh well, no way I can top yours! You're so beautiful! I love those flowers, they glow and everything! My friend calls me Cheesecake! Cheesecake the fairy! What's your name? I bet it's awesome!"
