Age: 36
Physical Description: Straight black hair, a little long in the front, falls gently like prison bars across soft, uneasy blue eyes and curves gently towards the left temple.
His broad shoulders and robust yet slightly padded frame exaggerate a swagger reserved for much larger men than his own 5'6" frame.
The positions of stark tan lines on his arms betray a man often in the sun but seldom there in working man's clothes.
Clothes and Equipment: Regulus keeps on his person the helmet of his office, a bronze helm shaped like a snake with open mouth, from which the wearer's face is seen. This helmet he more often than not carries under a free arm when not in the presence of lower ranking men whom he is unacquainted with.
He also wears the fine red tunic of his office, though dulled now with time and wear, clasped with a ring made to favor the Great Serpent. This toga is relatively form-fitting, with leather belts (engraved to favor the serpent, of course) at his waist and sewn into where the shoulder meets the sleeve.
Tucked into the belt at his waist is an ornate shortspear, a constant companion seldom needed but ever there.
Tied to the belt on the opposite side is a small pouch, in which he keeps coin, ink, a small journal, and writing implement.
Peaking out from the front left of his belt is a spyglass, and hanging from it by tough leather chords is an iron canteen, dented only slightly from absorbing a sword blow in his greener years at sea.

Hey, people, know what we need? A goal that literally any Sancturian has business being involved in. To that end, I propose a parade for the greatest achievement of our glorious empire, the completion of the Grand Cathedral! I would like to involve as many people as possible, so let me know if you'd like in and in what context but I'll be messaging people about stopping by to involve them regardless. I'm planning on making a big ceremony out of the whole thing, so people can march at the head of their forces, and the procedure for the 'quest,' though I'd really call it 'loosely structured interaction.' Would you guys be down for something like this? Of course, I'd still produce problems like a traditional quest runner. I'd just expect slightly less combat. I'm going to bed in a few hours, so I'm gonna have to pick it up tomorrow so I don't have to drop it only 2 or so posts in for a whole day. Currently in the shortest stage, planning, which will be more or less this:
Speak with the Arthyr, Meryn and Mr. Chumps to acquire funds.
Post the route map so people can plan for where they want to be when they see it. Keep in mind, a point of this march is so people can make a pilgrimage to the Grand Cathedral, so you could follow the whole way, no problem.
Speak with heads of armed forces to ensure support and pull troops for the march and try to prod leaders to march at the head.
Don't expect much combat, as in, expect none (I think, gonna wing a bit) unless you're a guard or looking for trouble. I'll give combat or make stuff happen on request. This is gonna be very unstructured, so feel free to do whatever.

The sandbox is more conducive to open and free form rp over traditional quest structure anyways. Organizing an event like this is one of the most productive ways of starting sandbox rp. In this kind of environment, casual rp that emerges from loose interaction will probably always be better than preplanned stuff.
Wish you luck and hope a bunch of people show up! ^.^

Caendius Thungel
New
Grand Pyrophant
Roleplay posts: 9
Age: 47
Physical Description: Caendius is an extremely tall (6'8"), gaunt man, covered in horrific burn scars. His hair is gone, his ears are practically non-existent, his lips are shredded with heat, his nose is more akin to a skull's than any living person. Most of his once-swarthy skin is gone, revealing raw, burnt flesh underneath. He has the odd splash of grey or silver where molten metal has cooled on his body.
Yet his eyes glow with burning zeal and pious passion, and few can meet the intensity of his gaze for long.
He stands with a slight slouch, and walks with a corresponding limp. He is dulled to the pain by now, but it occasionally flares up, meaning twitches and twinges are not uncommon.
Clothes and Equipment: In private pyrophant ceremonies, he wears little other than a ceremonial cloth around the waist, tied with a rough hemp cord, all the better to show the flame-mortified flesh of his body, a punishment and blessing from his God for his heathen magic use and resulting redemption.
In public ceremonies he either wears simple robes with abstract flame designs, and a plain iron mask to hide his features as necessary; or wears his armour.
The armour, worn both in more militaristic ceremonies and in the field, is fairly simple plate with a partial black cloth covering, apart from the helmet, which is designed to resemble the grill of a furnace, with an oven-chimney on top. In places, the heat produced by Caendius in his arts has cracked the armour, revealing the raw flesh beneath. He also red cloak with golden thread edging.
Of course, his favourite battle gear is a massive pyre of flame enveloping his body.
Caendius uses a variety of magical baubles and other esoterica to boost his combat power, though he generally forgoes staves and wands. In wartime, he often carries a fireproofed copy of the Scriptures, which he will occasionally read aloud as he incinerates heathens.

Epraiym Tagas
New
Roleplay posts: 4
Age: 52
Physical Description: Tall and skeletal, Epraiym presents the figure of someone not long for this world, all bones and pallid skin that is alternatively loose and shrunken. Bushy gray eyebrows, the only hair on his head, hang low over faded brown eyes, contrasting with his thin, bloodless lips. But this belies his vigor, for he is still as sharp and active as when he was a young man just out of the Iveluan rectory.
Clothes and Equipment: A variety of gold and basalt rings adorn his fingers, marks of both his office and his predilection for pleasures of the flesh, contrasting sharply with his simple clothing. Typically dressed in black, gray, dark green, or navy cowls, plain undyed cotton coifs, starched collars, a wide-brimmed felt hat and fine leather boots, when on assignment a light mail coat is secreted under his robes, against which is pressed a concealed stiletto, both protection from rulers angered by his professions.

Awesome, Aythr. I'd also like to make a stop at Meryn's and Alred's establishments, to panhandle for handouts and truly hook as many people as I can into this. So if you want me to hit you up last out of the three, or if you want to only give me /part/ of what I ask for so I still have to hit up private, that'd work fine. Either way or none of the above is really up to you, though if you'd rather I go to you first, I can start right away. Though if not I could also hit up the private sector first to get my foot in the door with you and make this thing happen (I'd see reason enough to be reluctant in-character, it's a logistical nightmare) if you'd like to play shrewd and a bit doubtful.
Epraiym, feel free to do whatever you feel like once we're started. First couple of posts will just be me getting everything together, but I'll chart the route publicly soon enough so you can decide where you want to pop in, or even if you want to walk along-side, pilgrimage style, to see the effigy burn in Ivelua. We've got a PM or two about people wanting to be in the crowd, and that possibility is why I was choosing this over starting, say, a war game...
Though I totally want a war game. Maybe the effigy burning can just be this big show to kick it off.
Meryn, I'll make sure not to start in a way that leaves you out in the cold.

No no, that would be right up my alley. Of course the Minister of State would have to authorize it, but I'm assuming Conflagration Day has been a holy day for centuries, so it's probably not a new idea requiring permissions. Unless inviting foreign dignitaries is a new twist?

Head of the Witch Hunters

Age: ???
Physical Description: Average Build.
Average Height.
No distinguishing characteristics.
Tends to wear a small polite smile on his features at all times.
Some people have commented that if it weren't for his armor's crest, they wouldn't recognize him at all.

Clothes and Equipment: Varies depending on situation.
His 'work' clothes however tend to be deep red and black hooded leather armor with the Great Serpent and the crest of the Head Witch Hunter emblazoned upon it. Hands are wrapped and protected.
Along with his basic survival pack and horse, he carries with him the Holy Word of the Serpent, a ceremonial knife, anti-magic incense, and a small hand crossbow and a set of bolts dipped in oil.
Rumor has it that Vex sometimes picks up and keeps magical items from his hunts, and some say that his pendent he wears has strong magical properties.

Atiri Val
New
Roleplay posts: 2
Age: 32
Physical Description: This strange creature is a mish-mash of biology. Walking upright on digitigrade legs that bring it to a height of 6'7", covered in long, thick fur, and bearing a distinctive pointed snout, it is unlike most other races; if a comparison had to be drawn, the generally hunched-forward stalking posture and sharp, animalistic claws and teeth might bring to mind some variety of gnoll or lycanthrope. Conversely, in a full run, the way its long, tapering tail balances a shifted-forward sprint propelled by its clawed feet might remind one of a velociraptor.
But no comparison is truly sufficient, for it is its own creature, and despite the overall lankiness of its body and limbs the length of the claws on its fingers and the dagger-like teeth filling its mouth suggest a strength not to be trifled with. Snow-white fur on the front of his body and jet-black on the back adds a point of strange beauty, and break up the general outline of his body to draw attention to his slitted eyes.
Clothes and Equipment: Armor comprised of angled, interlocking metal plates cover his body. Though they appear silver they are as hearty as steel, but apparently not much lighter as his both his abdomen and the joints of his limbs are partially exposed, presumably for freedom of movement. A ragged cloak of red occasionally drapes around his shoulders, swaying with the movement of his tail.
His equipment consists of a waterskin and some small fabric pouch attached to his belt, and an odd polearm consisting of a metal shaft with a pointed, bifurcated spear-head on it. A small crossbow and an accompanying quiver of bolts are kept secured on his back, hidden by the cloak when it's worn.
