"MAGES PREPARE CHARGED BOLTS FOR THE BALLISTA! MARINES LOAD THE CATAPULTS AND READY THE BALLISTA AS THE BOLTS ARE PREPARED!
The commandant's voice roars across the deck of the Enchrideus. At his orders the men hope to work. Mages set about filling rune etched ballista bolts with explosive fire magic. Soon the twenty two enchanted heavy ballista and forty four light ballista, on the port side would be loaded with a terrifying payload. The twelve on deck catapults are loaded with heavy rocks for firing. As this is going Viddik, Emrys.
"You coming with me to the battlements. We won't do much good if we aren't coordinating with the others. I need you to show me where they are."
When Emrys is ready Viddik would load the man into one of the life boats, along with a dozen marines. They would take off to make contact with the rest of the gathered forces.

The Walls have been taken back by the living and their undead allies. Now the fight will be inside the city. Undead fighting undead. Warriors of Aaedan cutting their way through monsters that were once family, friends, rivals, and lovers. The Cities four districts and the City's heart must be recaptured from the undead if the Alliance would succeed. The Military District, Northwest Residencies, Northeast Residencies, Southeast Residencies, and the Central Plaza. are where the fight will take place now. The undead barely showed their numbers on the walls. The intelligence behind their actions kept the majority inside the city. Why? Though attempting to attack the foes from the walls, no attempt to retake them had been set in motion. The first raindrop from the storm above would land in a an Aaedanian, felled in battle by the undead. Magic in the rain would spark though the corpse and a new soldier for the undead would rise. The rain began to pour in earnest, coating all of Aaedan in this horrific rain. people buried for years would spring to life. Centuries of rivalry on the Eastern War Front would provide hundreds if not thousands more undead. Even the squirrels who died in the forests came back with new evil intent. A more horrific effect of this rain would quickly grow prevalent. Plant life across Aaedan began to wither and die.

Emrys was prepared to land. He wanted to join his brothers in battle, however he had to speak of the advatange the ship had here, "It seems the leaders in this fight are spread out to cover ground. We should act freely This is a powerful ship and from here we can see the battlefield in full. My suggestion is to examine the warzone and determine the best course of action, but you are in command." Though uncommon to bend will to a superior officer of a foreign nation, it was his ship not Aaedan's. Emrys gave the man a quick salute, and awaited further instruction.

After half an hour of searching, she came to the conclusion that trying to locate the Queen would be an effort in futility, she felt the rain begin to fall around them. It all felt...off. And when the first bodies began to get up, she knew they were in trouble. A quick glance showed the rainstorm spreading throughout the Aaedan lands.
"Riders!" Her voice could barely be heard over the din of the rain, and she cursed softly. Now would likely be a good time to report in. Before the situation got worse. She saw below the rest of the Company setting up the beginnings of a fortified encampment.

While their General made her report, the Riders-in-Training had found a suitable hill, and had begun setting up a preliminary encampment when the rain started to fall. They noticed nothing out of the ordinary until the dead soldiers laying near one of the field hospitals began to rise.

"Hmm, I don't like opening fire on sovereign soil without talking to the leader first. Still given the circumstances you have a point. By the time we can coordinate the battle maybe over. Just a moment."
Viddik sends a telepathic order to the Captain of the airship and the Enchrideus moves into position. To avoid damaging their allies the crew selects targets near the back lines of the undead horde. Large pockets of zombies waiting to move into position. If any buildings are occupied by undead forces those would be targeted by the heavy ballista, while the lighter focus on targets in the open. Once the targets are lined up the bolts on the port side are released. Forty four bolts of a lighter nature are sent out. When these bolts impact they explode into a concussive fireball with a twenty foot radius. Any undead caught within ten feet of the blast zone would likely be obliterated, those on the outside would fair only slightly better. The twenty two heavy bolts have a fair more destructive forty foot radius. These bolts would leave craters in their wake and anything close to them would likely not get up any time soon. Too many missing limbs. As the port side is reload the starboard side is slowly brought to bear. The benefit of two sets of guns, chain firing. Well this was happening the life boat would make it's way down to the command tents for the alliance forces. Once they were on the ground Viddik would disembark and make his way towards the front lines. The old man begins charging his own magic as he goes.

With the wall cleared, Raynor would order his forces to split into multiple parts. The bulk of the troops would remain around the walls and the gates and help protect the army's rear from the looming forces coming from the Eastern warfront. The runes the Falcon Corps had laid behind their battle line were in fact similar to mines, in that they unleashed blasts of fire, lightning, and acid at any enemy forces which would ambush them, and could also be used to cover their retreat. While their forces held the gates, the wyvern riders, having suffered minimal losses, would fly around and help snipe and incinerate any undead rising within their and their allies' ranks.
Speaking of which, it was decided that the 100 Falconers, 6 earth titans, 50 Knights of the Harvest, 20 mounted mages, 20 mounted archers, two psionic corp members, and Raynor himself (3600 NPC count + PC) would work together as a team to take on the Northeastern Residencies. The birds of prey of the falconers were now fully empowered by magic, surrounded in a blazing aura of fire.
Of course, any back-up would not be objected to in the slightest.

Her troops had noticed the flags of the land-tillers stopping in place for a few minutes as they regrouped, and with her report concluded she decided to join them. She left a squad behind to guard the encampment, and she took off with the rest to talk with their leader.
St. George landed near Raynor, while the rest waited nearby.
"Would you be the Commander of the Land-Tillers group?"

Post by Ralakor Overlord of Belrow on May 14, 2016 0:05:23 GMT -8
The might of the undead of Belrow was slowly fighting back the senseless horde. A solid wall of bronze armored soldiers marched forwards pike raised at the enemy. They moved as one, each foot lifted and fallen at the exact same moment across the thousands of troops. No screams where heard from those that received injuries or were broken apart by magic or arrow. Another undead simply took their place in the assault. They were slowly causing the horde to backpeddle, their ceaseless waves unable to break the unshakable will of the dead. Soon the outer wall was secured by the dead against the dead. Ralakor looked on with mixed emotions. They were victorious, at least for now the evil forces pushed back into the city. Yet this assualt mirrored to well the purge thousands of years ago. It left a foul taste in Ralakor's fleshless mouth.
It began to rain. It did not mean anything to the dead, they did not feel cold, or fatigue. Yet something was different, something subversive was tugging at Ralakors mind. Something familiar. Once that was uncovered the feeling was placed. This rain was not ordinary. It tried to put his mind to sleep, to let it wander. It was trying to gain control. Ralakor crushed that feeling with his powers. His people will not fall under the sway of another. Not again. Yet this development must be reported, the living must know what awaites them within the city. The worms still where digging, deep beneath the earth under the walls with reinforcements but they could not arrive soon enough. Raising himself into the air on shadowy wings he began to make his way as fast as he could towards the living's queen.

The magic in the rain pressed harder against Ralakor, and in doing so the intelligence behind this magic revealed parts of its self. A room, simple and unfurnished, smooth walls aglow in blue light. A massive crytal, rough and filled with an insane amount of magic. Two men arguing in its light, their words unheard in the vision. Their argument festered and roiled until one man drew a dagger and slit the others throat. It was fast and unexpected. The killer turned to the stone with all its magics. sliced his palm and drew a sigil in blood upon the stone. He continued to work, the vision flashing slowly forward in time, more runes appearing with each flash. Then he was done he stood before the stone and disrobed, his flesh covered in sigils, runes and other markings. Naked to the world he knelt and slit his wrists. He chanted inaudibly as life faded from his body and his sould entered the crystal. Its blue hue turning a brilliant ethereal green. The ritual completed the vision flashed once more, the Tower of Aeon was in view and the same green engergy that encompased it in the present grew around the tower. A haze filled the city, starting with the walls and the ancient denizens of the city fell. The vision again flashed to the crystal....

Post by Ildesias Xen Torsal on May 14, 2016 20:16:54 GMT -8
"This rain is foul.." Ildesias told Sariandi, as he rode his horse up towards the Fortifications from the lands outside to the west. "Can you feel it? This is evil magic, most certainly necromancy."
He lowered his hood to his shoulders and looked up at the grim sky, his hands tightly clutching the reigns of his stallion while his eager elven ears picked up the sounds of battle coming from within the city. "It looks like we are not too late. The fighting continues for now, but we must hurry and seek the source of this if we are to end it."
Ildesias was and had been many things over his multiple-centuries long life, yet out of all of them he was known perhaps most for his magic. When one lives for hundreds of years and with the immortality of an elf, they have the time necessary to master many forces that most simply do not have the time to learn; Ildesias was as powerful as his age suggested, with the wisdom of several lifetimes. The result? He knew magic enough to look upon a situation where it was present and make sensible evaluations and suggestions.
He hoped, with his companion, to use this experience to offer his aid. To drive back the undead before they consumed far more lives than need be lost.
He would ride up to the gates of the fortifications, then call up loudly to whoever could see them from the wall. "My name is Ildesias Xen Torsal, a mage and warrior both. I have come, with my companion here, to offer our aid in defeating this undead evil."

Ildesias' words drew a rather flat look from Sariandi. As if she couldn't feel the evil of this rain? It made her skin crawl, and she shuddered as the evil feel of it rolled down her magic-warded cloak. "Truly sickening." She followed his gaze to the city, her lips curling in distaste even as she nodded her agreement, a simple curt up-down gesture of her head. "I agree. Let us do our best to end this."
Nothing further was said as she heeled her mare back into motion, sticking close to Ildesias while they approached the fortifications. Nothing was said; she was in the habit of speaking only when necessary, or when spoken to.. or when Ildesias cajoled her, which was, thankfully, an infrequent occurrence. These people need know nothing about her, save that she was there with him, and she was there to help. Her hood remained raised, the gloved hands holding her reins resting calmly in her lap while she tilted her head back just enough to fix piercing blue eyes upon the sentries atop the wall.

The Land-Tillers watched nervously as their commander, accompanied by General Finch, fought in the distance. They could see the lumbering forms of the earth titans thrashing against the swarm of undead, as well as the little red lights arc up and over them into the enemy. Some of the Land-Tillers cheered when they saw yet another blaze of fire flow into the hoard. Their mage corps brothers were clearly still alive.
They had no idea that a stranger may have saved Raynor's life.
The runic minefield persisted, but without the falcon corps they would eventually fade away. The mage corps nervously continued to charge up their mana in case it was necessary (charge 2). Half the archers had their short bows while the other had their long bows.
The wyvern corps continued to snipe any undead that the rain spawned.
The giant earth titans comically waved at Ildesias as he approached. Without a leader Raynor's army was essentially just waiting for an undead hoard to come upon them for them to respond to. They still had a basic understand of tactics and would not totally panic however. The psionic corps would keep them together.

An undead ranger would strike the titan waving at Ildesias with an explosive arrow. Several (aproximately 30) undead rangers and warriors would attack from the north. These undead were far more decayed than any in the city showing that they had died sometime ago.
A more frightnening image appeared on the horrizon. 3,000 undead from the Eastern Warfront was now visible from the ground. These undead were skeletal and some were ancient.

"General! There is a large undead force approaching from the East."
"Very well, group the Company together, I will join you momentarily. Raynor, my Riders and I will take care of the undead approaching from the North, then try and delay that group in the East until the rest of my Legion gets here to deal with it."
She leaped into the air at the head of two dozen Riders and her Riders-in-Training. The force charged at full speed towards the Warriors while the Riders swoop in from above on the Rangers using the rooftops as cover and divebombing them when they are close enough.

Though the rangers would undoubtedly have stuck some of his riders with arrows as they swooped in, their steeds if nothing else; rangers are some of the most elite soldiers of Aaedan, even if they're dead.
