Located in the Thelenor Valley, Greyhill Keep sits upon the only hill, situated close to the flowing river. It is the northernmost keep located in fertile valleys rather than snow, and its prime location and greenhouse condition with the climbing mountains on either side makes the weather perfect and clear so that one can see for miles.
This keep is particularly known for its spacious cavalry housing.

Greyhill Keep was the target of the Eighth Squad of the First Company of the Isran Dawn Riders, and from above they would examine the Keep, taking care to stay out of archery range while remaining airborne. Like the Tenth Company, they were looking for any signs of a major military presence here at Greyhill Keep.

There was indeed a military presence, though nothing significant. What seemed to have a lot of space and equipment for units of cavalry seemed mostly empty. While some troops were on rotational deployment here, it was nowhere near its maximum capacity.

Given the lack of any significant military presence, the Dawn Rider Squad would move a bit further away from the Keep but closer to the ground. This was in an effort to try and entice a response from the Goraian Cavalry. The Riders were eager to be the first amongst the Isran military to gain the measure of their new foes. The griffins would let out loud shrieks and the Riders would blow on horns and shout jeers at the Goraians in the Keep.

This alerted the Goraians to invasion, but they did not leave the safety of their garrison to attack. The cavalry would not mobilize, but the signal would be sent that they were under attack.

The Riders that had been driven off from New Brimiarde would rejoin their comrades on the semi-siege of Greyhill Keep. They would continue to maneuver, occasionally darting in to take potshots at the defenders on the wall.

Here, the defenders were very well protected against incoming arrows and other such small missile attacks, the entire structure having been strategically constructed to facilitate an overwhelming advantage to the defenders of a shootout. Given the speeds and distances involved with one side of the back-and-forth archery, plus the cover afforded to the other side, the accuracy of anyone's arrow on this increasingly chaotic battle scene was surely no guarantee - but the Dawn Riders would rapidly find the Goraians fighting back fiercely.

Their will to engage in a pitched battle this far into enemy territory was not very high. The two squads left to rejoin their comrades approaching the Northern Border, but they expected to be back sooner rather than later.

As part of Isra’s ongoing efforts to integrate Medan into the empire, a detachment of the Isran army arrives to capture and control this fortress. They bring with them supplies aplenty, with the intention to repair and refurbish the portions of the fortress that are lacking, and install new fixed weaponry where appropriate to make their position as defensible as possible.
