An experimental farm developed by the Guardians of Gaia. This farm can be created anywhere there is a hint of humidity in an otherwise mostly unoccupied cave. The farm focuses on creating an ecosystem in which edible fungi can thrive. Caves are naturally well-suited to growing fungi, but magic wards can help keep the farms climate controlled. Occasionally carcasses and animal manure are brought in to keep the fungi well fed.
The main purpose of developing this particular farm is to give other civilizations a way of making food even in inhospitable mountain ranges. With the right caves, these farms can be sustained without the use of magic.
A precautionary note, the farms need to be constantly inspected to prevent poisonous mushrooms from growing here as well, unless one wants to harvest these for potential alchemical or medicinal applications.
Most of these farms can be found on the eastern edge of the Saskatoon mountain range, closer to the Nokari portion of the mountains.
