The shipwrights and naval architects in Quying are renowned for their shipbuilding acumen. Some of the most technologically advanced shipyards in the world are present in Quying, and while the military controls the construction of all warships (whether they are ordered by the city or a foreign power), private investors, Quying itself, and the Daimyo all own shipyards, and they ring the harbor in every place that does not have a dock for tying a ship down. The shipyards employ a significant number of Quying's residents, and everyone in the city is connected in some way to the yards, and in many ways the Yards are the lifeblood of the city, almost as much as the lucrative trade that flows through the city year-round.
