In one area of the festival, the smell of food entices the air, mixing with the scent of all the fresh flowers to be found at the Prospernalia. At one such booth at the Food Court sells Candy Apples, sold by the lovely Sarah Corningfield. Candy Apples are 1 Silver Each!

Draga walked through the court, inhaling as she went to bring in the delicious scents of food. She practically drooled look at the delectables until her eyes fell upon the candy apples. Almost tripping over her own feet, she quickly wandered over to the stand.
"Candy apples?! I haven't had these in ages! I'll take one please!" She said cheerily to the waitress, slamming a silver piece on the countertop.

Roy wandered the festival with his favorite cousin, Roxanne. It had been so long since he'd seen her, and was glad to get a chance to spend some time with her for once. Being who he was, of course, Roy was immediately drawn to the sweet treats that the festival offered. The candy apples caught his eye, and he hurried over.
"Look, Roxanne! They have candy apples with caramel!"

Roxanne followed her excitable young cousin, glad to finally have him close. At least she didn't have to worry about him, now that she was here to keep an eye on him.
"Candy apples, huh? I haven't had those in a while. Let's get a couple before we head into the rest of the festival."
She bought two caramel apples and handed one to Roy, pleased to see him so happy. It reminded her of their childhood, when she would take him to local fairs every summer. The excitement of the festival, combined with the nostalgia of fairs past, made for a very lovely day indeed.

Vote for the King and Queen of Prospernalia! Vote by "liking" the post made by those listed as either King or Queen of Prospernalia.
Ganymede's last post down at the bottom lists all who have entered for either King, or Queen, of the contest, along with a short blurb of at-a-glance information. Only characters or NPC accounts that would logically be in Isra (and thus would attend the festival) are allowed to vote. Only one vote for each candidate (i.e., you cannot vote for two queens, or two kings). Votes will be disqualified if they break any of these rules!
Voting ends at 12pm PST Sunday April 30th.

Kaylie had decided she wanted a candy apple during her visit to the Festival. Her faithful wolf, Cael, trotted at her heels, springing at butterflies and performing the occasional sad puppy dog face to get bits tossed at him from skewers. Such antics provoked laughter from the usually taciturn Marshal, who had not worn anything other than her usual traveling gear, albeit freshly cleaned, to the festival. Her hawk was perched on her shoulder as she picked up the candy apple in exchange for the single silver, taking a bite and just enjoying the fresh air and happiness of the people.

Prospernalia's End Feast is Open! The Feast is higher-class than the rest of the casual atmosphere of the festival. Characters will be expected to show up, dressed to impress. There is no schedule, but instead a free-for-all for characters to attend and romance and eat and interact as they will. Specific characters have been invited, and have been appropriately tagged, but that does not mean that they are in attendance until they officially post in.
Please keep in mind that this is the last event of the Prospernalia, so all contests and games will have been done and finished by now!
Back to the regularly scheduled contest and roleplay.

Alden Marshal
Widely Known
Roleplay posts: 1,420
Age: 30
Physical Description: Alden is 6 even, with shoulder length messy black hair, and several days worth of beard stubble. He is handsome, with a powerful jaw, mid set cheek bones, and a perpetual grin that makes him seem younger than he really is. His bright green eyes, constantly sparkle with barely contained mirth. He has the lithe well muscled body of a swordsmen, and he moves with considerable grace and dexterity.
If one where to take more thorough examination of Alden's eyes they may notice a further detail. Around the outside edge of his iris's there's an intricate series of minuscule grey runes.
Alden rarely removes his shirt, but should someone see him with it off, they would find his body to be covered in scar tissue. Starting from just below his neckline, there is very little space that does not sport some relic of a past injury. A particularly observant person may also note that among these scars, some are a bright scarlet. These scarlet scars form an intricate series of runes hiding among the others.
Those of a more magical bent may be able to decipher the runes in his eyes and on his skin. Identifying them as sigils more commonly found on magical items. The most obvious effect of the runes on his body, are increased speed, strength, and durability.
The runes on his eyes give him the ability to detect magical auras and residue, as well as allowing him to see through low level illusions and glamours. They also maintain his vision regardless of the current light level, and even if there is a sudden shift. His eyes are also capable of dropping into the infrared spectrum in complete darkness.
The rune work on his body enhances his natural strength, speed, endurance, durability, and reflexes to almost super human levels. The effects make him a formidable opponent for most magical creatures though only because they are supplemented by exceptional skill.
This means that all though he is almost super human in a straight contest of strength or speed he would most likely loose to most other magically enhanced humanoids such as vampires or were wolves.
Alden's runes also greatly increase his healing rate allowing him to recover from injuries that would normally take a few months for a person to recover from in a few short weeks. Not only do Alden's runes accelerate healing they also enhance it. A normal persons body will repair itself until it is functioning again then stop, thanks to the runes Alden's body will continues to fix itself until it is in near perfect condition. His healing abilities enhance his already prodigious stamina as it repairs muscle damage and lactic build up and it also increases longevity as he does not accumulate long term damage as most people do.
Finally his body runes provide protection from people attempts to find him magically. Detection spells will be obfuscated their readings on his location being off by about 20 meters. Long distance scrying and tracking spells are only able to narrow down his area to somewhere within a mile radius. It should be noted that these protections can be overcome by someone with sufficient power or ingenuity.
His runes cannot be removed unless they are cut off of his body using an appropriate ritual knife and magic. If the runes are disrupted in any other way they will simply grow back in a few weeks time.
The final thing that only someone versed in rune craft and enchanting would be able to tell is this: The process of these runes being carved into his bodies would have been unbelievably painful. A normal person would have been driven insane or to suicide if they had this happen to them. During the carving process un-directed magical energies would begin to take hold and tear apart your soul. The pain this would not cease until the rune pattern was completed. This means the pain caused would be on a spiritual and physical level of incredible magnitude.

As one would expect Alden's children had been quite disappointed when their father did not win the crown but Alden had been relieved since he didn't want to deal with that tomfoolery on his day off. Instead, to relieve his children's disappointment he takes them to candy apple stand and soon he is sitting on a bench watching a sticky mess of children as they gorge themselves on the sweet confection.

With her flower crown on her head and her dragon under one arm, she wandered into the food courts and stood patiently behind a man and all of his family as he ordered all the candy apples for them. Although the sight of the family was a sweet one, it did not prompt Eilagwen to want to smile or laugh.
She stood, quiet and composed, and waited patiently for her turn. When it was, she ordered a green apple and moved to sit on a bench as well, near-ish to the family but not so very close.

The elf, of course, garners the attention of the children. The first to notice is one of the girls with blue hair who whispers to the girl who shares the same hue as her. The latter child has less tact than the other since she immediately points and declares. "Look! That lady has pointy ears!" This gets the attention of the rest of the children and within seconds @eilagwen is surrounded by six wide-eyed little scamps who had never seen an elf before. "Why are your ears pointy!" "Because she's an elf!" "Is that why she's so pretty?" "Our ears are pointy too, but they are also furry!" "Are you really an elf?" The barrage of words comes at the woman fast and most of what is said is lost among the cacophony of little voices talking over each other as the cat-eared children move around the elf angling for the best view of her ears.

Raoul strolled up, his crown cocked at a jaunty angle, leading Eli Nightshade on his arm. Along the way, he pointed out various sight and greeted the people that came up to say hello, but never let anything keep them from their goal for long. Once there, true to his word, the King of Prospernalia waited in line with the others until it was their turn. Speaking half to his companion and half to sarah, he said, “Personally, I like the green candied apples. I enjoy a bit of tart to go with my sweet after all.” He gives a rakish wink while pointing to the one he prefers.

Eli was blown away by the whole experience, she knew she couldn't stay attached to his arm forever but decided to indulge in the activities. She showed interest when he was pointing things out and waited patiently when individuals and groups and came up to greet their king. Even she was smiled at and spoken to. She also ha to resist the urge to push the crown back into the center of his head.
"I think you'll have to pick mine for me," She said, not really knowing how to take the apples. They were apples indeed, Eli could see that but some were covered in tree sap? others... well she didn't know what they were covered in. She decided to go for the one he had pointed at. "They're all so fascinating. We have nothing like this where im from."

He nodded as he listened, slowly adding to the picture in his mind that was forming of Eli Nightshade ’s home. The home he wouldn’t ask about after she had stated that she preferred not to speak of it. But even so, here and there, details came out anyway. Probably details far away from whatever aspect she was trying to avoid, but perhaps enough to give him a rough idea. “Two of these, then.” He nodded and passed over the silver to the young woman at the stall. When he got their candied apples in return, Raoul passed one to Eli, then lead her over to the nearby seating. “I think you will like it. They can be quite sticky, though. Just so you know.”

She bit into her apple and felt the gaze of someone on her. Slowly... she looked up... and saw child-like eyes looking at her. Eilagwen stared back for a moment, and when the child did not look away, Eilagwen shifted a little and turned, glancing back at her and then concentrating on her apple.
Again, that feeling as if being watched, and Eilagwen looked up -- two pairs of eyes now. And a pointing finger. And a remark about her ears. Eilagwen could only stare as four more heads whipped around to look at her with a scary focus, and then zipped on over to where she was sitting on her own bench, asking about her ears.
She was stone-faced throughout the duration of this, one bite taken from her candy apple. The questions seemed never ending, and when it finally seemed as if she might break through, she spoke. "Yes," was all she said to them. She had absolutely no interactions with children from her history to bank on.
Part of her hoped that if she played dead -- er, boring -- the children would get bored and go away. Back to their father, presumably. With that in mind, she opened her mouth to take another bite of her candy apple, aware that she had an audience, but hoping that the six pairs of furry ears and inquisitive eyes would soon flutter away to someone else.

Just so you know.” Eli sat holding her apple looking at it wide-eyed and full of greed. Never in her life did she think she'd eat and apple (something that was rare and considered a treat back home) would be smothered in liquid sugar! "You didn't have to pay for mine, I have silver" She said shyly taking heed of his advice and wondered just how to attack her apple. Finally, she decided to go for a single bite which she instantly regretted. The taste was sensational and Eli could feel the reaction it had with her body, being a crucible witch, meaning she could transmute energies and even create energy by simply eating, but this... it was better than salt her main source of food that kept her energy levels high. It made her want to run, dance and cry at all the same time. As she pulled the apple away sticky substance clung to her face. Eli felt her face go a shade of red as she tried to wipe it away but instead it seemed to just multiply in stickiness and spread onto her hand. "Urgh, Help!" She begged Raoul Ferdinand pleadingly.

“I didn’t have to, but I did anyway.” He nods and takes a bite of his own apple. He savors the mix of flavors as he chews. Then he desperately tries to stifle his laughter at Eli Nightshade ’s predicament. He’s almost successful, even. “Sorry, sorry. I shouldn’t laugh.” He takes a handkerchief from his belt and reaches for the young witch. It is a simple, inexpensive thing, soft mostly from age rather than quality. If she doesn’t pull away, he gently wipes at the sticky mess smeared on her cheek. “I should have warned you that they can be a bit messy. Can you forgive me?”

Eli's eyes crossed as she looked down her nose and watched him wipe away the goo with his handkerchief and she felt the blush increase but not because of the embarrassment of having treacle all over her face but how she was so clueless. "Only if you can forgive me for ruining your nice handkerchief," She said pointing at the mess which was now sticking to the fabric.
She took another bite this time making sure she was extra careful. Feeling her blush slowly diminish Eli couldn't help but notice the electric current she had emotionally created stir in her stomach. She focused on the floor beneath her feet and allowed the energy to ground itself.
"Thankyou" She said not taking long to finish the apple, she was hungrier than she thought.

Historically speaking ignoring children can go one of two ways, rarely they will get bored and wander off more frequently though they take being ignored as a challenge. Unfortunately for the elf, today was not one a day where she beat the odds. The children clambered onto the bench next to Eilagwen to get a better look at her. "Can I touch your ears?" One child asks a second before she immediately does so the brown haired little girl smiling at the feeling. "They feel just like daddies ears but pointy!" She declares as she lowers her head into Eilagwen's face. "Do you want to touch my ears? They feel different from yours, I think they are better because they are furry!" She declares happily. Meanwhile, the other children are looking at her dress and any equipment she might have, curious to see elven made items. Fortunately, their father finally decides to intervene. "Naoki!" A stern voice calls and the little girl who was far into Eilagwen's personal space looks up and grins sheepishly at her father. "And the rest of you, leave her alone she is trying to eat." He admonishes and the children let out a little groan as they slowly back away from the elf under their father's watchful eyes. "Sorry about that," Alden says offhandedly giving the elf a slight nod and apologetic smile.

Raoul Ferdinand
Dedicated
King of Prospernalia
Roleplay posts: 235
Physical Description: Tall and lean, with his dark, unkempt hair and dark blue eyes, Raul cuts a striking figure. He has strong, broad shoulders and long limbs, obviously accustomed to hard work.
Clothes and Equipment: He typically wears rough, sturdy clothing, stained with dust from the road, and several days' worth of stubble. Despite this, his equipment is immaculately maintained, the mark of a man that lives and dies by his tools. His primary weapon seems to be a large recurved bow, a composite of horn and wood so powerful that it requires extraordinary strength to string, or even pull. He also carries several harpoons, perhaps for hunting large game. His heavy, scaled armor is woven with protective wards.

“Not at all. That is what it is for, after all. And it isn’t really that nice, so don’t worry too much about it.” He chuckled and folded the cloth up, dirty side inside, of course. In another time, he might have gone for a kiss when they were as close as that, but he got the sense that Eli Nightshade was genuinely naive, not simply playing a game. Raoul sat beside her, sharing a companionable sort of silence while they ate their apples. Not entirely silent, given the festival going on around them, but less interrupted than it might have been, at least. He occasionally pointed out a passing dignitary or person of note, but mostly didn’t interrupt her meal, seeing Eli was trying to focus on not making another mess. Once she was done, he nodded to her with a friendly smile. “Thank you for coming with me. Everything is better shared with good company.” He looked down at his partially-eaten apple, then to her bare core. “Would you like another?”
