In one area of the festival, there is much laughter and good-nature shouting as festival-goers pick up games of chance and skill. One of these booths is a game of ring toss, where the young lad behind has a clever gleam in his eye and a quicksilver smile. He has a peg set up some distance away, with sweet, decorative rings he's been handing out to those who want to play the game of chance. At this game, however, everyone gets a win! The Ring Toss costs 3 Silver to play!Toss the rings to see how many you can make...
Make one ring, and get a handful of hard candy. Make two rings, and get a fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookie. Make three rings, and get a Prospernalia Flower Crown. Make four rings, and get a Prospernalia Day Hobby Horse. Make all five rings, and get a Prospernalia Day Slingshot!

Festival Game posts are not DM'd, so it's up to the players to roll the dice. For this particular game, roll a d5 and see what prizes you win!

Age: 30
Physical Description: Alden is 6 even, with shoulder length messy black hair, and several days worth of beard stubble. He is handsome, with a powerful jaw, mid set cheek bones, and a perpetual grin that makes him seem younger than he really is. His bright green eyes, constantly sparkle with barely contained mirth. He has the lithe well muscled body of a swordsmen, and he moves with considerable grace and dexterity.
If one where to take more thorough examination of Alden's eyes they may notice a further detail. Around the outside edge of his iris's there's an intricate series of minuscule grey runes.
Alden rarely removes his shirt, but should someone see him with it off, they would find his body to be covered in scar tissue. Starting from just below his neckline, there is very little space that does not sport some relic of a past injury. A particularly observant person may also note that among these scars, some are a bright scarlet. These scarlet scars form an intricate series of runes hiding among the others.
Those of a more magical bent may be able to decipher the runes in his eyes and on his skin. Identifying them as sigils more commonly found on magical items. The most obvious effect of the runes on his body, are increased speed, strength, and durability.
The runes on his eyes give him the ability to detect magical auras and residue, as well as allowing him to see through low level illusions and glamours. They also maintain his vision regardless of the current light level, and even if there is a sudden shift. His eyes are also capable of dropping into the infrared spectrum in complete darkness.
The rune work on his body enhances his natural strength, speed, endurance, durability, and reflexes to almost super human levels. The effects make him a formidable opponent for most magical creatures though only because they are supplemented by exceptional skill.
This means that all though he is almost super human in a straight contest of strength or speed he would most likely loose to most other magically enhanced humanoids such as vampires or were wolves.
Alden's runes also greatly increase his healing rate allowing him to recover from injuries that would normally take a few months for a person to recover from in a few short weeks. Not only do Alden's runes accelerate healing they also enhance it. A normal persons body will repair itself until it is functioning again then stop, thanks to the runes Alden's body will continues to fix itself until it is in near perfect condition. His healing abilities enhance his already prodigious stamina as it repairs muscle damage and lactic build up and it also increases longevity as he does not accumulate long term damage as most people do.
Finally his body runes provide protection from people attempts to find him magically. Detection spells will be obfuscated their readings on his location being off by about 20 meters. Long distance scrying and tracking spells are only able to narrow down his area to somewhere within a mile radius. It should be noted that these protections can be overcome by someone with sufficient power or ingenuity.
His runes cannot be removed unless they are cut off of his body using an appropriate ritual knife and magic. If the runes are disrupted in any other way they will simply grow back in a few weeks time.
The final thing that only someone versed in rune craft and enchanting would be able to tell is this: The process of these runes being carved into his bodies would have been unbelievably painful. A normal person would have been driven insane or to suicide if they had this happen to them. During the carving process un-directed magical energies would begin to take hold and tear apart your soul. The pain this would not cease until the rune pattern was completed. This means the pain caused would be on a spiritual and physical level of incredible magnitude.

Alden had opted to take a day out with his children to attend the festival the rambunctious cat eared litter was getting quite large the six children approaching their fourth birthday. Unfortunately, Thaelyn had fallen ill and couldn't tag along but the children had quickly gotten over their sorrow of not having her along when they saw just how much there was to do at the festival. At present his smallest child, the meek little Rawr Rawr was astride his shoulders, the blue-haired little boy looking around at all the pretty things with wide eyes from his high perch. His hands were occupied by two of his daughters Moon Moon and Juniper swinging his arms too and fro as they explored the various stands.
Up ahead Little Naoki, Caleb, and Kae were scrambling about until they spotted the ring toss. Of course they two excitable little boys were eager to try their hand at winning a prize and soon they'd finagled the necessary coin from their father. The man who accepted the coin seemed quite amused by the boys antics and perfectly at ease with the little family, probably more than he should have been if he knew who the father was but Alden wasn't there in an official capacity and he probably shouldn't use his authority to bully the man. The two brown haired scamps ready their rings and with surprising discipline, they do their best to aim up the targets before throwing.

Badger was caught up in the festivities and general merriment of Isra's yearly Prospernalia festival. The decorations, the wonderful food, the atmosphere of happiness; it was all right up Badger's alley! The gnome found himself wandering first to the carnival games, where he decided to have a go at the ring toss.
"I'll have a go at this one!" he said joyfully, a big smile on his face as he slapped down three silvers.
He was promptly handed five decorated rings to toss at the peg some distance away.

The two boys scowl as they win flower crowns however, Moon Moon and Juney both seem quite enamored of them little girls immediately asking their brothers for the crown. "Come on Kae you aren't going to wear it!" Weedles Moon Moon who under the watchful eye of his father hands over the crown his brother soon following the lead giving his to Juniper.
The little girls squeal in delight declaring each other princess of the fair as Kae notices the short man. "Hey, that kid has a beard!" The brown haired little boy declares his tail swishing from side to side curiously and Caleb chimes in. "Aw, and he won a wooden sword lucky!" Little Naoki feels the need to pipe up at that point. "He's not a kid he's a gnome." This get's a chorus of oohs and awes from the kids and soon Badger is surrounded by five curious little faces.
"Noaki says you are a gnome is that true!" "I heard that gnomes are like smarter dwarfs!" "You are really small is that as big as gnomes get?" "You got a sword lucky!" This and many other things are launched at Badger by the eager smiling children, Alden meanwhile settles Rawr Rawr on the ground and decides to see if he is any better at the game than his kids, he gets the sense that its a bit rigged and a bit random but it could be fun.

Badger hoisted the sword above his head like a conquering hero returning from battle; perhaps the closest the gnome would ever get to being a conquering hero returning from battle, but the pretend was nice at any rate.
It was about this time that he found himself surrounded by Alden's children and bombarded with questions. He couldn't hide his enjoyment of their excitement, and just this once he was one of the biggest things in a crowd.
"I am indeed a gnome!" he said, the big smile still on his face. "We are a little like dwarves, and I am actually big for a gnome." He answered their questions in rapid succession.
Badger tossed the wooden sword up, it quickly making a half turn in the air before he caught it on the blade. He held the handle out towards the smaller of the two boys.
"If its alright with your old man, you can have this one! You might need it to protect yourself against this big fella here!" he smiled, motioning to the eldest boy, so was just a couple inches taller than Badger himself.
Badger was still relatively new to Isra, and had no idea who Alden was. As far as he was aware, it was just a dad out with his children for some fun at the festival, which was perfectly fine by him.

Kelmaer Iridien
Established
Roleplay posts: 31
Age: Primordial.
Physical Description: Physical Appearance:
Kelmaer Iridien is a tall, bipedal male closely resembling a human but with several noticeable differences. The first is the colour of his skin; a dim blue, resembling a sky where night has not yet fully fallen yet dashed with a hint of purple. When exposed to sufficient lighting, Kelmaer's skin brightens with a white tinge that leaves him a light slate blue.
His second contrast are the three pairs of dark, dangerously sharp horns that exit his skull at various places; the first pair are the smallest, located just above his knife-tipped ears and follow them straight backwards so that their sharpened points are aimed to his rear. The second pair are the largest and located further up his scalp, their roots located where the front of the skull joins the side and like the first pair of horns they grow backwards over his head, yet this time with a curve. The third pair are medium-sized, located further inwards than the second pair with their base at the top of his forehead. These curve outwards and slightly to the side as they grow up towards the sky.
Other than these two main dissimilarities, Kelmaer looks related to both human and elf-kind, with a similar anatomical structure that suggests all three groups share a common ancestor. Kelmaer himself is a somewhat slender man, with very little body fat and a clear muscle definition that has been toned by some form of training or natural muscle mass. He is also tall, with angular facial features that are all-but flawless except a small scar above his right eyebrow. His eyes are a little on the small side with a golden iris colour and though slightly interrupted by his horns, his long and dark blue hair is able to grow down past his shoulders.
Clothes and Equipment: Clothing and Equipment:
Though Kelmaer has very little issue in showing off his form, he often wears clothing to cover himself until considered modest. His most common items of clothing include a long, dark cloak that opens like a coat and is padded with leather on the inside and rimmed at the neck by fur. Though he tends not to wear anything under the coat on his torso, he does wear trousers that are similarly padded with leather for a little extra protection. Despite this apparent preference to avoid true metal armour, his forearms, hands, calves and feet are covered by vambraces, gauntlets , greaves and sabatons respectively; all of which have a spiked motif to match the horns on his head.
At his hips, a leather belt with attached straps connects to a pair of long blades with slightly curved edges and a satchel filled with strange flasks.

Of course, Kelmaer's first game had to be the ring toss. He had spent many a night throwing horseshoes around metal rods stuck out of the ground of his cell and though while this was not quite the same, it was similar enough to bring back pleasant memories of nostalgia. "I must try to play this fair! I will not 'try' to win, for my expert knowledge of the throwing of things at other things offers me quite the unfair advantage!" The blue-skinned, horned man spoke; to himself, mostly, his loud mumblings not concerned with the presence of other people or the possibility that he might look like a raving lunatic.
"Everyone gets a win?" He asked, rather surprised when he heard someone mention this fact to another. "How... Boring, still, I do love winning."
He paid the required coin from his purse, then took his allocated rings and one by one casually tossed them towards the peg and hoped for the best.

While Badger spoke with Alden Marshal , and all of the Sun Marshal's kids squirreled around, two lovely blonde ladies, "Farrah" and " @totallynotadragon " came bounding up. One in a blue dress, one in a dun-colored dress. There was a lot of activity going around the ring toss, and as determined as the golden-haired Sparrow was, she didn't REALLY want to ruin the fun of the cat-eared children that were nearby. Although... the catness of them made Farrah's nose twitch a bit. She looked to the gentlemen, noticing the Gnome was actually an adult, and cleared her throat. "Are you two in line for the game, or...?" She glanced at two of the girls that had crowns on their head, and felt more determined than ever to get one. And as she spoke, some blue-horned guy totally stepped up and took her game turn! Farrah scoffed, and settled her hands on her hips, rocking her feminine weight to one side as she waited for Kelmaer Iridien to finish up.

The smallest boy in the crowd was Rawr Rawr, the little blue-haired boy who'd just vacated his father's shoulders while the man tried his own hand at the game. Rawr Rawr shies away from the gnome with wide-eyes, he was the shyest of the three boys and one of the others spoke up. "Sorry about that Rawr Rawr is a bit shy." The other two boys looked nearly identical both larger than the blue haired boy and with the same brown hair as their father. The boy shoots his brother a dirt look and then shakes his head at Badger. "I dshon't like shwords." The slight lisp to his voice makes his shyness a bit more explainable and he points to Kae, indicating that his two older brothers would like it more.
Alden approaches the little group and settles the flower crown he won on Naoki's head. The girl tries not to look too pleased at this as she'd been trying to act like she didn't want a crown at all. "You six aren't bothering this man are you?" Alden asks and the children exclaim that they've been very good as they smile up at their father. A few more fairgoers come to the stand and ask if they can go, Alden gives them a smile and waves them ahead as the three little girls admire the two women's dresses. "You two should get flower crowns!" Cries Moon Moon. "Then you can be princesses like us!" The little girl points at her two sisters both of whom are wearing flower crowns.

Draga noticed both Badger and Alden's strange cat-eared kids.
"A gnome? Man, I haven't seen them in three hundred y- uh months." She said, interrupting herself in the process. AS they waited in line with Farrah speaking to the two, Draga failed to notice Kelmaer getting into line before them. By the time he took his turn, it was too late.
"Wha, hey!" She called out before crossing her arms and pouting. "Man, this game's popular..."

"What is this?" Kelmaer asked as his hobby horse prize was handed to him, completely oblivious to the fact he had been pushing in front of at least one other person. "I do not understand - what is this?" He asked again, examining the head of the horse upon the end of the long stick.
"What use have I for a horse without a body? Where are its legs, its back, its hooves? Why have they been replaced with this.. stick?"
Kelmaer's voice was not one of complaint or annoyance, but more of genuine curiosity. Never had he seen such silly toy prizes, or so many adults and children alike rushing to claim them! How astoundingly strange! It was about then, as he held this hobby horse contraption in his hand, that he noticed the scoffing lady and the particularly feminine stance she took that all men with a knowledge of their breasted counterparts knew to be a unique expression of annoyance or dissatisfaction.
He turned to The Sparrow, offering his prize out to her. "I have no need for such silly things, but you look like you could make use of such a long and erect wooden pole, my lady."

Badger nodded to the youngest boy with a knowing look. "It's alright, neither do I.. Just don't tell anyone that if you see me juggling them later would ya?" a little laugh escaped the gnome's throat as he offered the sword to one of the two other boys.
"One of these two strong lads might have use of it though! How about it?"
It was about this time that Alden, the children's father approached.
"No! They're no trouble at all." he said, looking up at the fully grown human, "Though I'm not sure I've been accused of being a man before!"
The gnome offered a smile to the two women as they approached, moving aside so that they may have a turn at the increasingly crowded ring toss stall.
"Please! Go ahead." he said, motioning them by him.

Alden Marshal
Widely Known
Roleplay posts: 1,420

The sword is immediately and proactively seized by one of the two brown-haired boys it soon becomes apparent by the way they are bickering that Alden will not be leaving the fair until he gets a second so they can both have one, never mind that they both had toy swords at home. Alden gives them a glance though and they both turn and chorus off at the same time. "Thank you!"
Alden shrugs when the gnome claims that no one had accused him of being a man before. "I meant your gender, not your species. It's a catch-all term despite its species origin." He says with a little shrug to explain it as he waits for the stand to clear up again so he can try for a wooden sword while the two boys argue.

Badger

Roleplay posts: 81
Age: 108
Physical Description: As nearly as he can tell, Badger is more than a century old, but appears to be in his mid-30's from the human perspective. He stands at a stocky 3'4, and has a muscular frame. A crop of pinkish-purple hair on his head is normally covered by a hat, and his white, toothy, segmented grin is always on display. Big ears, green eyes, and a bulbous nose give him the obvious look of the classic gnome.
Clothes and Equipment: If Badger is not working (that is to say performing) he can normally be spotted in his normal old street rags; a brown coverall type garment with a ratty shirt on underneath. He always has a trick or two tucked in his pockets, and is very fond of short blades.

Badger laughed, "You're quite welcome!" He was almost immediately aware of the problem he'd created for Alden, but after all it was a festival, right? Kids will be kids.
He turned his attention back to their father, the same 'pleased with the entire situation' look on his face.
"Oh no offence taken, and no explanation needed sir! Hel- Heck I was raised by humans myself! Two of the finest people I've ever had the good fortune of knowing." Badger caught himself and half-swerved from his swearing. Not all humans were alright with gnomes swearing up a storm in front of their children, so of course he would avoid it.
In truth, he hadn't spoken of his adoptive parents in a long time, but they were indeed fine people, and raised Badger as one of their own in a home filled with love.
"If you boys don't mind, we're down wind of those skewers cooking and they're calling my name!" he said, speaking to the remaining boys who weren't enamored with the women who approached.
He turned to look up at Alden again, "You have a wonderful family, I'm sure we'll be seeing each other again before all the fun's over this week."
There was a genuine compliment in Bader's words, and a truth, as Alden and his six catlike children would be hard to miss if they crossed paths again.

The Sparrow looked at the little girls -- each with a crown -- and smiled at them. "I'll try!" she said to the girls, before they were interrupted and usurped. Alden Marshal and Badger seemed the jovial sort, so Farrah didn't pay them any mind other than to smile a thank you... ... but she waited with attitude for Kelmaer Iridien to finish. When he did and turn to speak to her, both of her brows rose on her face. "Oh, do I?" she asked, her accent slipping just a little bit deeper on her words. "Well, no thank you. You can keep your hobby horse. I'm not interested in the ride," she said and breezed past him to take her place at the game. She took the rings from the man working the game, then gathered her golden hair so that it draped over one shoulder, leaving her back naked and her wing tattoos highly visible over the edge of her off-the-shoulder dress. Concentrating, her eye on the prize, she tossed the rings! She only needed to get two. How hard could that be? BmFqFrlB1-51-5

Draga clapped for Farrah.
"Oh! Nice, first try! She cheered. Draga took Farrah's place and tossed her own ring.

There seemed to be a crowd gathered at the Ring Toss, including a small pack of children competing with each other for prizes already won. Seeing that one of the prizes on offer was a pretty crown of flowers, and that several of them were already being worn, so the odds couldn’t be too long, Bella skipped over to try her hand.
No sooner had she arrived, than the woman in front of her won herself one of the crowns! Looking at the rules, she noted that it was one of the lesser prizes, meaning she was right about her chances. She laughed and clapped for the woman as she made her way up to the booth, offering a bright smile to Sparrow. “Congratulations!”
Bella passed her coin to the man tending the booth and took her place at the line. The others had made it look easy, but it was new to her, so she took her time anyway, carefully measuring out each toss in her mind before lofting the rings out in the direction of the target.

As Bella won the doll Kelly smiled and clapped for her.
"Good job, ma'am!" She called out. She went to pick up Bella's dragon for her, carrying it in front of her and barely keeping her balance.

Farrah snagged the crown out of the man's hands with a laugh, twirling around and putting it on her head so the ribbons swayed down her golden hair. "Ha! A crown," she crowed magnificently, posing with the sword at her belt and the flowers around her temple. SHe smiled at @totallynotadragon as she stepped up to her try, and then looked over at Annabelle "Bella" Khorudan as she was congratulated. "Thank you," Sparrow laughed. "I've been trying to get one of these all day." She turned her gaze to watch Draga win a hobby horse, and she laughed. "I imagine you'll get a lot out of that," Farrah teased Draga, and then stepped out of the way for Bella to try. When the dwarf IMMEDIATELY got a dragon, Farrah couldn't help but laugh and elbow Draga gently. "Look at her! First try, and she gets a dragon." Farrah shook her head in mock sympathy, then turned her attention onto Draga. "We can go get food now, considering my crown was far easier to get than your dragon." At @banditkelly 's approach, Sparrow waved, and then watched her in curiosity for a moment as she picked up Bella's huge stuffed dragon. Interesting. A servant? It made Sparrow look at Bella a little closer...

As the game master handed Draga a small stick with a stuffed head on it and Bella won the dragon doll, Draga's puffy, pouty face returned.
"Fucking dwarves..." She muttered to herself. "Oh well...we won ours first."

Farrah laughed again. "Okay, hold on. Maybe I can win another."
She waited her turn, then stepped up to do the ring toss as well. A dragon. She'd need to get all five, right? The sounds of the festival were all around her, and already feeling relaxed because she got the one thing she really wanted, she casually tossed the rings out at the peg.

Aaand laughed when she got herself a hobby horse to match Draga. With a smile, she reached out and booped her horse's nose against Draga's own. A little spring breeze, not even really enough to do more than shift through Farrah's hair, had the golden-hair woman lifting a hand and brushing a strand off her cheek.
"Okay, let's go get some food. Or a drink. I could use a drink as well."1-5
