The Dark Wood

Kasey begins to slump, as the clone finds nothing to worry about.

Kasey looks around a bit, "Great! Upstanding!"

She uses a bit of echolocation looking for the phantom like being.

Kasey's helmeted face looks over to Yuzan from leaning against the tree and mumbles, "Poison..."

Her violin is lying in the grass a few feet away discarded from a scuffling in the ground.

Kasey thinks for a minute, "Who...is this stranger?...she's new....hey she's got pointy ears...pointy pointy pointy...am I still bleeding...oh yea I responded to that...poison...sizzly, melty, poison..."

The elven woman surveyed the area briefly, making sure she detected no danger in the area. She then knelt next to the girl in front of her, looking her up and down, trying to find the source of the wound. "Poison? You drank poison?" she asked. The woman sighed. Poison was no easy task to fix! But it was well within her ability. There is something she noticed... there was a wound, with a strange substance surrounding it. This wasn't poison! Ah! Not an ingestible poison, but a toxin!

"Do not be alarmed. I am here to help you, but it will be strange," she told the girl, laying her on her side- just in case the whole ordeal ended up causing her to vomit. It would be bad if she were on her back and it caused her to suffocate.

Then, the elven woman placed a hand on her wound and closed her eyes.

At first, both elves would see nothing, just the blackness of their eyelids. Then, if the elven warrior so permitted it, a flash of light lit up in their heads.

They were in a tunnel large enough for them to stand atop each other's shoulders comfortably. All around them were what seemed to be bubbles encasing small motes of fire. They floated through this tunnel, passing them by. Yuzana looked around, narrowing her eyes as she searched and searched through the tunnel. It was then that she noticed that some of the fire within these little cases were now black and causing them to stick together, blocking the tunnel.

"This is a very bad toxin. You should be happy I found you when I did! Though, there is so much of this blood that is now useless. I will have to expel it with the poison. Forgive me. I cannot lend you any of mine, but I can replenish the metal within your body so healing will not be so tiresome."

The onlooker would not see the light show, but he would witness the toxins leaking out of the wound, along with the jelly that had once been the girl's blood plopping onto the dirt below. That was how it killed, by making it impassable through the body and heart, as many toxins did. Some fresh blood dripped out at the end, just to make sure all of the toxins had been flushed out.

Right after, Yuzana used her other hand to retrieve a spool of thread from her bag. She cut off a piece with the nail on her thumb and thread it through the girl's wound without using a needle, making small holes in her skin by stretching her pores. When she pulled the wound closed with the string, she put her hand over the girl's heart and searched for the stores of ore within her own body, but the girl had not had time to replenish her motes of blood, and thus had no open stores for the substances.

With a sigh, the lightshow around them vanished, and Yuzana pulled away from the girl and opened her eyes. It was likely that the warrior would feel drained and tired, but any delirium caused by the toxins would have cleared up through the process.

"How do you feel? I Was able to expel the venom and seal the wound. I did not detect any other ails, so if you have any others, please let me know."

Thoug she didn't show it, she had used quite a lot of energy to push out that amount of venom and the affected bodyparts through the wound. The younger elf may not have seen it, but she had explored thousands of those tunnels in the process, looking for every ounce of it.

Yuzana swiftly helped the young lady undo the leather strap, helping her breathe and expel the waste in her stomach.

"Are you alright?" she asked. "Do you need water? To refresh yourself... and to revitalize? That was quite the trial." From her bag, she pulled out a swollen waterskin, handing it to the injured elf.

"That is the toxin that was inside your body. It is also some of your blood, affected by the toxin. I couldn't save all of it, unfortunately, but you will live, and not be in that much pain. I have stimulated your wound to heal a bit faster, but I could not completely close it right away. Your body would not have tolerated it with so much blood it still needs to replenish," the older elven woman told the stranger.

The woman beamed at the young warrior, a hand on her cheek. "Well, I suppose I did!"

Getting to her feet, she extended a hand to the younger elf. "I am Yuzana-Sonam, but you may call me Yuza. You are?"

Yuzana waved away her words. "No debt! Just pass on the favor, if ever you can. Kindness to beget kindness. Perhaps we can make the world a little better that way."

Though the woman had a stern face, when she smiled, her features softened profoundly. She had a motherly expression about it. "Now, tell me, how is it that you wound up here in a state like that?"

The wandering magician smiled ruefully as he watched what passed as "healing" magic transpire. Though exactly what the elf did , or how he did it was all but unknown to him due to the rules of his own magic. He could not see any magic being used any woman, but that had a flip side as well. They could not see that he was using magic.  physical alterations and illusions omitted, it was simply that one could not see the inner working of the spell craft or that he was even handling magic at all.

Solus broke the aversion spells surrounding him with a simple yet effective manner. He began to clap. " Bravo!" The old coot cheered. "By the light a miracle if I's ever seen one." The old man's voice was pleasant, like a deep woodwind instrument. Slowly , one by one new spells replaced the old ones. Not spells meant to distract or negate , but the opposite. "Warm" "Kind" "fatherly" "old friend"--- these invisible words would linger near Solus, not twisting the minds of those who say him like true manipulation magic did, but for those unsuspecting, it lent favor to those ideas and notions.

" Such a blessing does not come often!" He beamed cheerfully.
