Located in the foothills of the Norakari Mountains is the first settlement of Esphiridon. Generally it remains peaceful, but this is due to the isolation of the Norkari and the protection from the Esphiridon Mountain Marines. This village is less than five years old and built on the ruins of the city the Phoenix State Marine Force levelled plans for Atlanticus.

Soraya blew her long dark bangs out of her hair, her green eyes stormy and moody.
"You're not leavin' Esphiridon, Soraya," she mimicked in a rude interpretation of her father's voice. "Go check the traps, Soraya."
With a large stick in her hand she whacked at a bush and saw that the rabbit traps had indeed worked up here in the more mountainous regions of the foothills of the Norkari Mountains.
The pretty adolescent continued to grumble to herself as she got down on one knee and began to undo the mechanism her mother had made for catching rabbits. The winter season was coming and most of the larger game had moved on, but these rabbits, well. They'd stay around all year long.

@soraya would check each trap, but nearby, slightly concealed behind the low lying bushes laid a Mystical object. The oval shaped sphere was being cradled by plant life, as if they honored it.
She could see it from where she was, most notably the stray bands of fog creeping along the hardened exterior. The small mist kept it's distance though, for it knew what power irradiated from inside it...

She was tying the rabbit's feet to her belt and almost missed the rock entirely, so focused was she on her task. When she did see it however, a little breath whooshed from between her lips.
Her green eyes that had once been stormy with a bad mood were now clear and curious as she reached out and moved aside the branches. It was a beautiful stone, almost egg shaped, and she felt an almost insistent tugging in her heart to hold it.
Her palms wrapped around its figure and she brought it back to her, kneeling as she was and examined its roughened surface.
"What ARE you?" she asked out loud, not expecting an answer since it was, of course, a rock.

The rough surface was blood warm to the touch, a very strange feature. As expected the object could not vocalize, however the swirl of mist weaved in between @soraya's fingers as if it was feeling her.

She cupped her hands around the rock that was so warm to the touch, watched the way the mist weaved around her fingers. She was utterly entranced. She'd never seen such a thing before, and she'd never heard of such a thing being seen.
Part of her wanted to hoard it and keep it and not tell anyone about it, but a larger part of her wanted to discover just what sort of stone it was.
For some reason, she had an innate sense that she needed to keep the stone safe. She searched in the bag that hung at her hip and drew out one of her bandannas and wrapped it around the stone, then settled it into her bag.
With only three rabbits hanging from her hip, she dashed off home, the other traps unchecked.
