Yanata Province Nestled in the Northern mountains of Katashima the Yanata province is filled with small temple libraries. The ruling clan is comprised mostly of scholars and they settled here because the cool dry mountain air helps preserve their scrolls. Near the base of the mountain their is fertile if slightly sparse farmland, and the province is mostly self sufficient. The people of Yanata tend to be reserved, polite, and surprisingly well educated as the love of knowledge the ruling class has trickles down to the peasantry. |

A historically fertile region, this province is mostly flat, with forests, lakes, and many rivers. The Uesung clan ruled here for many centuries until their extermination. In their absence, the land was overrun with ronin and other vagrants. Now Kenjin Uesung seeks to restore his land's prosperity, and in doing so reinstate his family's legacy. |
