I've made a map of TFS and I would like to ask the heads of the various governments to fill in some of the information about their respective nations and post their edited map in this thread. Once this is done, I'll merge the information onto one map and post it. I got the shape of TFS from: this thread

Maes
Established
Roleplay posts: 40
Age: 23
Physical Description: Maes is human, and stands at five feet and eight inches, all parts frail and spindly. His skin is a shade of alabaster so pale that dark veins and bright arteries can be seen beneath, sometimes appearing to crawl beneath the flesh of their own volition. His eyes seem the color of a worn road stone, grey and lifeless. Lusterless black hair, several inches too long, dangles from his white scalp in uneven cuts. Despite his graven appearance, no mark of exertion, be it sweat or road-dust, seem to settle on him.
...
Clothes and Equipment: Dark, frayed robes hang from Maes's gaunt frame, as though someone had thrown a bed linen over a wrought iron fence. A jagged looking medallion of opaque white crystal clings to the dark cloth as though the chain on which it dangles is only decoration. In stark contrast, his boots look nearly immaculate, evidence perhaps of a past life of luxury, or merely an opportune acquisition from one who enjoyed it.

This is a rough draft that we were working on a few weeks ago. The big change here is that the mountains are west of Isra, not north. And Asgeir is retired.

I am pretty sure Atlanticus is actually in between TPS and Isra, but this is how I generally think of the map.

Empress Naoki
Famous
Roleplay posts: 2,238
Physical Description: =========================
Empress Naoki is a curvaceous woman of average height, indeterminate age, and catlike features. Her hair is a dark auburn, often pulled back into a long braid. Her ears are both soft and fluffy, and her tail is never less than perfectly groomed. Amber eyes glisten in the shadows cast by her hair.
Clothes and Equipment: =========================
Naoki's wardrobe is to her as a frame is to a painting. Sometimes embellished with detail to be attractive in its own right, but never the focus. Usually simple but elegant, tightly fitting and highly revealing, used only to frame the beauty within.
Additionally, Naoki is, when clothed, often adorned with a small collection of accessories. She wears an earring, a brilliant cut amethyst, in her right ear. The silver signet ring of Isra is worn on her left pinky, marking her as High Lady of Isra. Directly adjacent, she wears the golden signet ring of The Isran Empire as its Empress. On the inside of her left thigh, there is a tattoo depicting a rose entwined with tentacles.

Here's a map of the land immediately surrounding Isra that Ildesias Xen Torsal made. It is a very rough draft, created in only twenty minutes or so, but the general placement of things is correct. My understanding is that Goraia/The Region of Medan is to the south, and Atlanticus is to the north-west. (Direct Link)

[Phoenix] Zaltos Kiraxo
Dedicated
Roleplay posts: 221
Physical Description: Zaltos stands roughly 6'2" and weighs around 220 pounds. He is currently using a young male for his vessel that is around 17-20 in age. Since this side of his Red Phoenix has never been present long, it is as juvenile as the new Zaltos, allowing him to be open to learning new magic besides his fire. His build is that of a well trained martial artists and his skin in a moderate tan color. His eyes flash an icy blue and his hair is silver and shoulder length.
Clothes and Equipment: His garb changes, as does his armor. He no longer uses the Phoenix Blade in a broadsword form. This sword is a dual blade sword that is highly magic. These blades are covered in a magical sheath that turns to fire when Zaltos takes hold of it. This sword is rumored to posses the first Phoenix ever. He currently has no shield but his fire. He does carry small items that can be used in combat, but these items vary from time to time and will never be the same at any point.

Skarlet, you're the closest I believe. Aaeden would be closer to The Phoenix State. But TPS needs to be relabeled as Phoenix Imperium. As for the Caremella Sea, it was originally deemed the Atlatian Ocean.

I have always strongly, strongly discouraged the notion of making a "world map."
The reason is because the Overworld is always in flux (hence why it doesn't even have a name--your overworld is what you define it to be). When new players join up to TFS, one of their first comments is usually "this is a bit overwhelming. Where should I start?"
Naturally, one of the first places they'll want to check is a "map" thread.
This becomes a problem when the new player mistakes this map as officially endorsed or accurate to the game. This becomes an even bigger problem when retired states are still recorded on the map. Mapping retired states essentially creates big swaths of unusable land and can throw wrenches into new lore and complicate things beyond necessity.
We want new players to integrate into the world as seamlessly as possible. Statistically speaking, the greatest barrier to "new player retention" is outdated, abandoned material that they mistakenly interact with because it was not retired from the game in a timely fashion (which kills their enthusiasm for a game that comes across as vibrant and active). Because of the necessity to make joining a streamlined process (there's more lore and "stuff" to TFS than traditional RPs, but you don't have to spend any time learning it before jumping in), information about the game and the world have to be presented in a very consistent way (Overworld boards, for instance, are always ordered roughly north to south, every government must have an OOC board, etc). That said, any world map would have to be as consistent as everything else, and maintained accurately and on the fly by an unofficial editor. This in and of itself has problems, particularly as the cartographer is not a staff member and has no obligation to stay.
A theoretical, unofficial world map would thus have to have a consistent system to it. It is a very bad idea to record some of the retired states, but not all of them--and it is equally bad to portray all of them.
My suggestion is that anyone with the time, tools, and enthusiasm to bring more maps to the game to focus more on making local maps of frequented areas or even nations.

While I do agree that making local maps is an excellent idea, I also feel that having a world map would be an excellent idea. Like you said, one of the first places someone will want to check is a map thread. I understand the concern that the unofficial map editor won't actually stick around and that the map will then become outdated and unusable, I myself don't have a great track record with being reliable on this site (mostly due to extenuating circumstances, but still).
Which is why I think that creating a group of explorers under the name of the Cartographer's Guild and building a map via in-character interaction would be a good idea. This is actually a somewhat ambitious project that I've been considering for about a week with the hope of providing a scholar/adventurer's guild of some sort that could disseminate information about the board through in-character actions.
However, before I did that, I wanted to ask the world heads for, essentially, a local map of their nation. I just figured that, by providing a pre-built outline of the world map, it would take some of the work load off these people. With 20/20 hindsight I believe contacting those people individually rather than posting this as a thread, checking with you before hand and beginning with in-character interactions would have been better. I apologize for my lapse in judgement.
I agree that including outdated information on the map is a questionable decision and that the map needs to be edited to expand the Open Lands and exclude those nations that are no longer active.
I think that having a world map to provide and a group of characters knowledgable about the world will make new characters more able to seamlessly integrate in.

Maps are good for the people who have worked hard to establish their territory. If new players can't work around that, I don't know what to say. An infinite amount of land, but established territories are a positive thing. If a gov fades away, the territory becomes open for another to swoop in and conquer.

Jun of the Celadine
Widely Known
Roleplay posts: 1,410
Age: 28
Physical Description: Jun is a human adult, standing 5’4”. She is wiry and fit at approximately 120 lbs. She has olive skin, dark brown hair ending just above her shoulders, and slight epicanthic folds over her dark almond eyes. Her face is squarish with a small chin. Her skin is dotted with battle scars, and her left arm is heavily bandaged due to an unknown affliction.
Clothes and Equipment: Jun possesses a vast collection of seeds, herbs, insects, and scrolls hidden in various pouches in her armor. These serve as reagents for her multitude of spells. Her armor consists of a customized, long-coat style gambeson that is stuffed with a matrix of seeds and plant fibers. Fitted on top is a set of brass-like, enchanted half armor (chest piece, pauldrons, and tassets) which gives off a warm aura. She has an open-faced, burgonet style helmet and coif of the same materials.
Her most notable "weapons" are Blackbean and Resonance. Blackbean is an elephant-sized demon crow which has served with Jun for many years as a mount and as a bodyguard. A minor enchantment allows him to disguise himself as a regular crow. Resonance is an azure blue longsword with a mind of his own. He can intercept minor attacks and can teleport to his owner. He can also use a personal reserve of magic to aid in the casting of a single spell.

Ok, just to get everyone on the same page: Me and Empress Naoki agreed Isra would be next to LTS, so I'm thinking LTS borders TPS desert on the northern half of the Western forests and the Free Plains of Isra on the southern half. Do you think you could make the Valheecius desert a little smaller and have the Nokari Mountains extend further into it?

From my understanding, norkari are on the west side of Isra, so I will connect the mountains and that entire ridge can be Saskatoon Mountains. I can readjust borders for desert, didn't have a 100%, I just knew LTS and TPS were border nations. As for extending Norkari, a fair chunk of TPS and Isra borders go from forests/plains to desert. At least this is how it was rpd in the beginning.
