"Eek!" Mina ducked down and curled up into a ball while Doobie's stand went to town on what was left of that monstrosity.
When it was over poor Mina felt like she was gonna lose her mind.
"...You know... Suddenly... I don't feel bad about the half naked armor lady killing him."
Of course, Mina was the one who killed him. Her stand took the sword because she felt like she couldn't take a life herself. But the stand was a part of her and was only acting on her will. She only thought it was someone else. In a sense she was only obeying her own desire to take a life without taking a life. Of course for now she was unaware that she had just become a subject of philosophical debate, with people asking if she had actually killed someone or not.
"Oh! The constable!" Mina came to her senses long enough to realize that there was a hapless man with a missing leg bleeding out next to them. She immediately ran up to him and placed the blunt of her sword over his wound. "Grr... I'll put as much pressure on this as I can to slow the bleeding. Can you heal him?"

"I'll cauterize the wound with fire magic, that's the best I can do for him. I can't bring his leg back. He's lucky to be alive." Doobie comes over to use his magic to burn the wound and stop the bleeding. He followed this up with some healing magic to repair what was left so that he wouldn't be in as much pain when he wakes up. "He's fine. How about you? Are you alright Mina?"

Mina sat back and put her sword to the side. Then she started looking up at the stars.
"I'm soooo very confused... And traumatized... And sleepy... And a little hungry. But yeah, physically I'm swell." Her arms gave out and she fell back into the dirt spread eagle. She kept staring at the stars.

"Gah! no!" Doobie is frustrated that Mina has gone to bed, so she has two unconscious people to deal with. "Starman, lift them."
Doobie would carry the constable and Mina back to the Inn. Once there he would explain to everyone that the serial killer was dead. After dropping off the constable he'd carry Mina up to her room and put her on the bed. He would them remove his boots and curl at the foot of the bed.

*Gasp*
It was the middle of the night when Mina woke up. She quickly sat up and looked around at the unfamiliar room. It took her a few seconds to figure out that she was back in the inn. How did they get back?
It must have been Doobie. That weird guardian of his was incredibly strong. It must have been capable of bringing her back with ease. Where was Doobie anyways? Then she heard the soft snoring.
She carefully looked over the edge type bed. There was the little lizard man. She smirked.

The next morning Doobie would find himself in bed. Mina would be snoring peacefully on the floor with a pillow and blanket. She rather presumptuously figured Doobie had never been in a bed before. She had, but she was also used to sleeping on hard surfaces, whenever her own bed was ruined by rats and she couldn't spare any hay to make a new one right away.

Doobie wakes up and nudges Mina with his foot trying to wake her up. "Hey, wakie wakie. It's almost mid-day. There are lessons to learn today."
Doobie appreciated the gesture of her swapping places with him in the night, but he didn't mention it. They had both slept on the bed for half the night so they were square.

Mina stirs, then sits up. She stretches and looks at the kobold. "Good morning to you too." Ok, so that wasn't all a crazy dream. She quickly gets up. Luckily growing up on a farm she was used to getting up quickly and easily, although last night's events definitely took a toll on her. "Lessons. Lessons sound good." She had almost forgotten all the crazy crap that had happened to them last night.
Then she remembered. "Does this have anything to do with the half naked armored lady that showed up last night to help me?"

"In here is fine for now, this is just something basic. We'll be outside for the next few lessons." Doobie says and starts to teach Mina how to get prepared for controlling her stand. "The first thing I will bestow upon you is knowledge of Sendo Breathing Technique. When your breathing is steady and controlled, you're body and mind are ready for combat. Repeat my motions."
Doobie would demonstrate the beginning of his breathing technique, the motions he did with his hands, when to inhale and exhale and how long and steady to do them. The goal was to clam yourself.
"With that done, I'll now tell you how to bring out your Stand. It may not respond at first, but if you remember what you were feeling last night, just think of those emotions again and try to manifest your Stand. If necessary you can projects feelings like you want to kick my ass, I can take it."

Mina breathed deeply over and over again. She tried to concentrate. Save people? Save Doobie? Save herself? Save anyone? What was wrong with her?!
No matter how hard she tried she could not fully manifest the guardian. At best the outline became a little clearer.
She tried for at least 5 minutes.

"Come on. Come on..." Mina kept trying. She focused on trying to bring the stand out. But nothing seemed to work.
After another five minutes she became frustrated. "Gah!" She leaped back on the bed. "This is so dumb." She sat back up. "The thing must not want anything to do with me. I'm just a... A stupid orphaned farm girl!"

Suddenly the shadowy outline became much more intense! It placed its hand on Mina's shoulder and took a defensive posture next to her. It still wasn't fully formed but it was much clearer than in the last 10 minutes.

Doobie feels bad for Mina, she's getting frustrated and losing her cool. Perhaps they could try another time, he hadn't had much success with his last apprentice either, Chapel just never could be controlled. But then the Stand becomes more visible. "Hoh! It's becoming more clear! Progress! Whatever you were thinking of to get it to come out, keep it up, or think of something related to it."

Mina becomes alarmed when she sees the stand next to her. She loses her concentration and the stand vanishes. Darn.
"Uh... Ok. I'm a stupid orphan farm girl?" This of course does nothing. "Uh. No wait you said what I was thinking last night. Um..." She starts to replay everything. What made her get up that night? What was she thinking? And why did the stand appear when she ran in?
She started to concentrate. "I'm... More than just a stupid farm girl?"
Once again the shadow appeared by her side. Doobie would notice it nodding in approval. But it still wasn't quite there yet.
