Calico wanders off, chirping and whistling to himself. It must be fun, to be able to breath underwater. Sadly, his beak prevents him from doing so. Ah well. It's just one of those things. Everyone's different. Walking through the resort, he marvels at exactly how different everyone is. He's got feathers, that woman has red hair, that man has dark skin...humans really are a very diverse race. He gets the pastries and heads back to Jun's room, then leads her to the beach. A man is selling curved pieces of bamboo and glass goggles, for snorkeling.
"Here they are, Jun! Did you want to try?"

"With any luck, we won't need them. And you are going to get to experience the under water... if this works." Jun sat down and got to work. She laid out the scroll in front of her and started scribbling and writing various formulas and runes. She would occasionally reference an old leather-bounded book as she scribbled furiously. A sudden thought crossed her mind... If I pull this off I could make a lot of money... She shook her head and continued to scribble. Yah... this could work."Sorry, just a few more minutes." She rapidly grabbed and chomped on a pastry. "Ok, this is gonna be a complex spell... plus it needs a cool name. It's like an earth art and air art mixed together with psionic energy... hmm..." When she was done, she put down her pencil. The scroll looked like a mathematical proof mixed with some odd drawings here and there, but it was done. All she had to do was visualize it properly. "Calico, get close to me." She reached out her hands and breathing in deeply while making some complex movements with her fingers. New spells always take time to weave. It's much easier the second and third time around. Finally, she gracefully stretched her hands out to her sides. "Let's go with... Life Art: Glass Coral Sphere!" A blue, electrical force stirred the air around them. When it subsided, if Calico were to look around she'd notice that everything seemed... green. She grabbed Calico forcefully by the hand. " It's time I take YOU out on a date!" They would leap into the water. The first thing they were greeted by was a grumpy sea turtle which was swimming towards them. It immediately swiveled to avoid them. But more importantly, Calico would notice that they were completely dry and still breathing normally. Also, everything seemed a bit greener than it should be. "I can't believe it worked!" Jun beamed brightly, and yes, she was sparkling. "Do you like it?!" She suddenly turned to Calico. "Oh, hey there fellow!" She waved gleefully at the turtle. "This spell, it works by creating a psionic barrier around us to protect us. But what makes it unique is that the inside of the barrier is coating with a magically enhanced algae that metabolizes carbon dioxide much faster than normal, and it synchronizes with our bodies. In other words, it can supply us with fresh, breathable air so that we don't get uncomfortable. And it gets better." Jun raised her hand forward and focused. The bubble began to propel itself through the water. "I can control where it goes. See you later suckers!" She sneered at the snorkelers as they swooshed through the water... And swoosh they did.
 "So, what do you think? How long do you wanna stay? Where do you wanna go?"

"Sure, let's do it!" The green submarine hovered towards the school of fish. Unfortunately the school dissipated instantly for assuming that they were a predator. Instead they wound up further away from the coastal sea life and headed deeper into the sea. Where they would encounter...  Dolphins! These creatures were commonly found near coastlines, but they were far from ordinary. Very intelligent, playful, friendly, and yet cunning fighters, dolphins were viewed by many as the pride of the sea. Jun had only read about them, never seeing one up close. The dolphins would circle them with interest, poking their noses at the shield. Jun was a tad concerned at her own excitement that she decided to pull out one of her scrolls and place it flat on the bottom of the sphere. The sphere shook and some glowing runes spread out from the scroll and into the sphere, making it look even cooler. The dolphins seemed even more intrigued rather than frightened. "There, that should keep the sphere in place if I lose my concentration." She looked back up at the dolphins. "They're amazing. I can see their intelligence in their eyes. It's like meeting a distant cousin for the first time."  The dolphin's would gesture for them to follow them. "Calico, I think they want us to follow, should we do it?" |

Jun nodded at the dolphins. They swam off towards the ocean floor. The sphere followed. A few minutes later they had arrived at what appeared to be a large, ancient shipwreck.  "Oh, wow, that looks like it could be interesting. Should we explore it?" |

"Sweet." They flew into the shipwreck. The sphere held firm against the water pressure. There were tiny fish everywhere and the old, decayed wood was covered in sand and bits of plant life.
There was a conspicuous lack of skeletons or signs of death here. It was possible either no one was killed or everyone was eaten. They drifted through whatever openings they could find that would accommodate them. It was cold and a bit spooky. The dolphins however seemed right at home.
"Well... wow... this is scary." One of the ship's corridors lead to a hall. "Woah, this is less scary..."
It was some sort of shrine. The light shined through several opening at the top and irradiated outward. Jun looked up and saw that there was some sort of special glass at the top. The skylight was refracting the light through the entire room, making it far brighter than it should have been at this depth. "How is that... possible?"
In front of them were several idols, one made of gold, the other made of marble, and the third made of jade. They were sitting on top of some kind of red stone, perhaps sandstone or clay. It was too hard to tell. Around them were seating areas, although the chairs and benches had seen better days. Jun brought their sphere closer to the idols so they could take a closer look. The idols were of bald men with wings. Their eyes were large and blank, and they had large heads. They were smiling serenely. Jun sensed no magic coming from them.
Looking around, there were other features to the room. Various trinkets and pottery, stone statues, and gleaming bits of metal buried underneath everything else. Jun couldn't quite make out what they were. Perhaps jewelry or brass linings? There were even some old rusted weapons.
Jun got the impression they were gifts. This didn't exactly seem like a storage room.
"This place is... beautiful..." Jun and Calico would suddenly notice that the dolphins were no longer following them. A brief moment of darkness and some playful chattering would signal the presence of the dolphins outside of the ship, above the skylight.
Jun put her arm around Calico and rested her head on his shoulder. "I'll bet the snorkelers haven't seen this before..."

"No...I don't think anybody's been down here before. Unless they had a very, very long snorkel..."
Almost unconsciously, he wraps his arm around Jun, hugging her closer.
"Hmm...what a strange place. Is this some sort of shrine? It was so kind of those dolphins to lead us here..."

"Do you wanna just... stay here a while? Relax?" Jun focused her mind. The sphere grew slightly bigger and more oblong, making it feasible to actually sit down, which she did.
"With the algae and my scroll in place, we could stay here for hours if you want. Unless you wanna do more resort stuff." She was still enchanted by her surroundings, just barely paying attention.

She asks her question.
"...that we should steal the gold statues. It's not right, y'know? And that's how you get cursed. I don't want to get cursed."
He shakes his head.

"Yah, you're probably right..." Jun playfully ran her fingers up Calico's feathers. "It's kinda cold in here. Wanna lie down?" Jun took her free hand and released a little spark of red light. The light floated towards the upper part of the sphere. It was slightly warmer and more comfortable now.

He can also use a personal reserve of magic to aid in the casting of a single spell.

He's so cute. Literally. He's a f***ing bird! Adorable!
