The townsfolk stared at Brother Heinrich von Schaufen, wide-eyed. "We didn't have any problems until recently, sir! Everything was nice and safe here, then these...newcomers showed up. A dark, hooded man with scars on his face, a creepy man in a mask, and that girl! They showed up, and suddenly everything's going crazy. Gregor was murdered in cold blood, and the hooded man escaped! He could be anywhere, just waiting to stab someone. Oh, I miss the days where the most dangerous thing was a runaway goat. I pray that the Light keeps us all safe. Glory to the Light." "Glory to the Light," chorused the rest of the townsfolk.

Kelly eyed Heinrich as the townsfolk berated her.
"....see?" Was all she mustered, smirking a little. She turned and started to head for the mountain.
"I'm going to go check out that mountain. There might be something up there. Keep this place from going crazier, aight?"

Heinrich could not help but grin at the bizarre nature of the populace. He sighed and waved farewell to Kelly, and then said "everyone just calm down. What do you know of this hooded man? And what of Gregor, who was he? Did he have any enemies? What was his trade? I need details if I am going to help you." ( Strangers and Travelers)

The unofficial spokesperson for the townsfolk, an old man almost bend double with age, blinked up at Brother Heinrich von Schaufen, shaking his stick at him. "Why, Gregor was the kindest man anyone ever met! He was the cook at the inn, and a damn fine one at that. He had two twin children, who he was raising on his own after their mother died of an illness. Everyone loved him, and he didn't have an enemy in the town. The hooded man was locked in his room under the High Priest's orders, to keep us all safe. That's all we know." Heinrich would spot two small identical children in the crowd, sniffling and sobbing.

Eli rode on the back of her horse, Gabriel who was a large black stallion. She had a thing with naming her animals friends, she guessed it was because she was able to connect to them on a different level normal people could. She had gone on a short errand leaving Kelly to do her own thing telling her that if she needed her just to call out to Eli in her mind and she would hear. Since escaping her clan she had not only grown in power but she was able to control them better, she could still, however, feel the darkness pull at her and she could sense the woman far away.
She rode down the main street looking for any obvious signs for an inn.

Eli would find the inn easily, but it was in chaos. There was a huge crowd gathered in front, seemingly both terrified and distraught. Something was being carried out the door by two men, covered in a sheet. A body? It sure looked like it, and judging by the red stain on the sheet, the poor sap hadn't died peacefully in his sleep. It was clear that she wouldn't be getting much relaxation in this inn, with all the commotion and crying. Unfortunately, in such a small town, there didn't seem to be any other inns about. As was typical of these small towns, she was noticed as a newcomer quickly. The townsfolk whispered among themselves, then quickly vanished within their homes. Within moments, the streets were empty.

Heinrich looked sadly at the two twin children and said a prayer for them. What foul, accursed fiend would hurt children in such a way? It was unacceptable, completely unacceptable. He turned back to the old man, looking more determined, and said "you have the suspect locked up? I shall love to speak with him as soon as I can." His voice was fierce and cold with anger. If the old man led him where the hooded figure was he would follow and ask "you don't know who this hood is? No identification, nothing?" ( Strangers and Travelers )

Physical Description: He is a tall, sturdily built elf, with long blonde hair and hazel eyes. He is a bit taller than most Esdaran males, at a height between 6'2" and 6'3". His typical elfin figure is a lot stronger than it appears, and is clearly battle-scarred from years in the service.
Clothes and Equipment: His equipment is the basic gray-silver-whitish armor of the Esdaran army. A longbow with an accompanying arrow quiver is always slung across his back when not in use, and a battleaxe is always found at his hip or in his hand. Daggers are hidden in his boots and one inside of his belt, in addition to additional straps across his armor that can be used to stow and/or hide additional equipment as necessary.

Feanor Vala made her just a bit nervous, but then again... maybe he was actually trying to be kind. Her gaze glanced around to the few townsfolk still looming about the house before settling on the man again. "That's... entirely up to you. If I can just get a place to rest for the evening I'll leave before morning - and maybe before any of them get an idea to try and search this place." He was, genuinely, sincere. His order of Rangers from City of Mithlonde roamed far and wide in the world, on the lookout for any sort of threat to the city, or the world as a whole. They also did their best to assist where they could, both because they were usually good people and to make friends for the beleaguered city. "There is an Inn nearby in this town, the people and their religion are a tad strange, but seem friendly enough. I would keep your situation down though, no telling how they might react. I stayed there last night, good food, alright drink."

Roleplay posts: 23
Age: Physically early 20's, actually extremely old
Physical Description: Alan is a monster of a man, standing an imposing 198cms tall, he has strong and muscular build.
His muscular body is incredibly pale as if he had never spent a day in the sun. Likewise it is without as much as a scar.
While handsome his appearance is somewhat 'otherworldly', and while the proportions of his face cannot be faulted they fail to have any deviations unlike a typical human face.
His broad jaw is covered in a thick but short beard, neatly kept. His hair and beard are both jet black, his hair being slightly wavy and falling just past his ears.
The most striking feature of his face is his electric blue eyes, the gaze of which can only be described as icy if his mood turns sour.
Over his heart is a silver mark, the shape seems to shift quickly while being looked at, but when caught out of the corner of your eye it appears to be a glyph, maybe a letter or word in some ancient language.
On his back there are two ridges, barely noticeable. These are the only sign of his wings while they are magically sealed/stored. When unsealed his wings are mighty, roughly 210cm each and covered in feathers which are a random assortment of black, white and silver. The exception being a pure gold feather in the middle of each wing.
Clothes and Equipment: Alan only wears a light armor, his jerkin and leggings are mainly supple leather, with some harder bits of leather for reinforcement and to hold the few bits of metal which make up his armor. This odd black metal lines his arms, shoulders, legs and the top of his boots.
The metal on his arms and legs is just a few small strips covering the less protected parts of the legs and arms. It doesn't cross any joints and is there only to give a possibility to either deflect or limit the cutting ability of a blade.
The supple leather is the standard dark brown/black, while the hard leather has an odd red color to it. (Red Kangaroo leather esk)
There are small notches on the back of his jerkin for his wings to come out of.
He carries three weapons.
On his left hip hangs a sword with a slight curve, very similar in style to a nodachi (90cm blade)
On his right is it's brother, styled more similar to a katana (60cm blade.
Both are made of the same black metal as is on his armor, they were forged by Alan himself and during the process of folding the metal had diamond particles (dusted diamond essentially) folded into it. This causes both the blades to sparkle faintly at different angles, it also helps the blades keep their edge.
His last weapon is a massive great-sword (125cm blade), this weapon is highly enchanted and is the only one of his weapons with any magical properties. The enchantments mainly pertain to keeping it in the shape of a sword and the ability to be used as one.
The sword has a hilt of onyx with veins of silver, the handle is wrapped in black leather. From the hilt the veins of silver reach out into the blade up to the very tip, like a thin tree branch. Making up the space between the silver, and forming most of the blade is pure diamond, which is why the blade is so highly enchanted against shattering.
The blade does have one other quality, being that it can be used to hurt things hurt by sunlight, moonlight and silver. The light is dependent on the time of day, but the blade will continue to contain the light for roughly an hour, and can be used to 'inject' the light straight into any cut that connects.(Although not with the same intensity as actual exposure.)

It didn't take long for Alan to find the town Kelly had spoken of, from the air such things were very noticeable. He circled for a moment before landing in the center of the town. For a moment he'd stand and look around his wings stretched to either side. The silver in his wings would shine faintly while the single gold feather in each wing would stand out. "I wonder where I can get a drink around here." ( Strangers and Travelers, also Eli and Alan aren't here at the same point in time atm)

At his knock, the door would open a crack and someone would peek out, then slam it shut. "Go away! We're not letting any more strangers in! It's too dangerous, all you strangers walk in the darkness. The Light will keep us safe." Inside, Alan would hear the sounds of prayer. It seemed that there was quite a collection of people hiding inside, all deep in prayer to "The Light".

As paranoid as they were about strangers at the moment, the townsfolk were reluctant to let Eli Nightshade in. However, she was so innocent and harmless-looking that they couldn't bare to leave her out in the cold. Eli was brought into the inn and given a room, where she would be able to sleep soundly. She'd wake the next morning to the sound of prayer. It was as though half the town was in the dining room, praying for the Light to keep them safe.

That was not the welcome Alan had expected from the description of the town that Kelly had given. But oh well it could be fun.
He used a touch of magic to cause his wings and body to glow softly, essentially it was fire magic just done on a small scale, then he solidified a bit of air to open the lock before allowing the door to be blown open, hopefully giving the townfolks a look at him standing tall, with wings out and glowing softly.

The townsfolk peeked out their windows at the glowing, winged figure and screamed. Curtains were shut quickly, and Alan would hear the sounds of prayer get louder. There was a scraping noise, as though tables and shelves were being pushed against doors and windows. It seemed that Alan's reveal had not caused the townsfolk to become an more welcoming.

Alan looked quizzically at the door "Worst religious zealots ever" he'd say in a manner which suggested he was laughing at his own joke. Walking away from the scared nut jobs he walked back to the center of the town "Dammit and I said I'd wait here for them..."
While looking around the drab place he found somewhere he could sit and watch the road to the village thinking he'd wait a while to see if at least one of the girls have survived and come to get answers from him. He hoped they hadn't been eaten by the dragon, that would make him rather pissed off, and unfortunately it seemed there wasn't much he could do when it came to the dragon.

From the corners of the town a swirling light appeared above the ground, kicking dust and wind up into a circle pattern around the ball. In a flash, Kelly appeared taking a three-point kneeling stance. In her hand was a massive spike as well as red scales. She stood up and held her hands up.
"Behold! I have returned from Mount Grim!" She called out to the town. Her voice echoed off the empty streets. Confused, she put her hands down.
".....Dammit, I only do the cool stuff when no one's looking..." She muttered to herself. Eventually Kelly began to wander the streets.
"Hey, where the hell is everyone?!" She called out, "I killed Dark Falz! He was in the form of a giant dragon. Got his scales and spikes here as proof! You're all free from the darkness."

The old man shook his head. "We had him locked up, but he escaped! Gregor was watching his room, as per the high priest's orders. When we found poor Gregor, the hooded man had escaped! We don't know if he did it, or if it was an accomplice who murdered Gregor and helped him get away. We have no idea where he is now." He glanced back at the two little children, sighing. "What will become of the kids? They have no parents, no aunts or uncles...poor children." Heinrich eyed the children and raised his hand "I shall take them. The Brotherhood adopts, feeds, clothes, and trains orphans all across the Overworld. The boys will be taught to defend themselves and given proper education, with the ability to join the Order if they so wish. The girls will be educated as well, and may become nuns should they wish. If you would allow me, I will take the children. Now, about Gregor... show me where he was murdered."

Kelly's heroic entrance went mostly ignored, as the townsfolk were still hidden away in their homes. On the other side of town, however, Brother Heinrich von Schaufen had a small crowd around him. "You'll take the poor children? Really? You're so kind! Alright kiddies, you're going with this nice gentleman now..." The old man ushered the two children (a boy and a girl, both dressed in rather dusty clothes) towards the knight as they sniffled and cried. "Thank you so much, sir! Their names are Hans and Greta. I'm sure the brotherhood will treat them well." Hans and Greta looked up at Heinrich, eyes wide. Who was this armored man that they'd just been given to?"
